  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

As I scheduled for my ABS fuse recall at the dealer, they informed me that there is a second recall which involved replacing the brake line. It is a 1-3 day job because the entire read end needs to be taken off to get to it.

I'm a bit puzzled because I cannot find any recalls on-line, neither do I recall this being discussed here. Did my dealer mess up the Genesis with a different Hyundai model?

There are a number of threads on here about that very thing. Search for them. It is serious, and you certainly want to do it. Members have threads on here about losing all or nearly all braking due to the lines failing.
You can also put your VIN in at the NHTSA recall site, and then read about this recall.

I believe that I read about a brake line recall for northern states that uses salt treatment on roads due to corrosion issues. It may have something to due with brake lines that were not properly coated for use in rust prone states. It may have just been a certain batch of brake lines under certain VIN numbers that were flagged as not being properly coated and not an wide spread incident.

One of my GM cars had corroded brake lines when I lived in CT. It was on me. Let them do it as long as it is free. You could end up needing them later at your cost.
