  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Brake Vibration?

How can i check if its pad deposits instead of slighty warped rotors??
You can try re-bedding, even if it may be only temporary, it will tell you.
If it feels better after a few consecutive hard stops from about 60 down to 10 MPH, then it's pad deposits. Don't brake hard enough to activate the ABS and don't touch your brakes in between or after the hard braking until they cool.

Thanks Ashmostro, that's what i think after much reading on the forum...Should'nt Genesis put some stronger/better pads on the Brembo option, should they pay for that repair on warranty?? My G70 3.3t sport has only 23k km (~13,000 miles) and been trough 2 rotors changes in the back and 1 in front...

Agreed.

Fwiw I switched early on to the euro spec pads from Hyundai early on and have had zero deposits. They are pricey but they seem to be in the right temp range for this application.

They do. In the US we have a TSB for it and the final step is to put euro pads on

I'm not seeing anything about replacing the pads with the Euro ones.
The one he linked doesn’t, but my pic is a slightly older version. Maybe they changed it? I’m not sure. But the reference number on both should allow a dealer to look them up in full

Good, so the TSB no. is: 19-BR-001G (nov2019) and older model is:18-01-005-G (dec 2018)
Thanks Guys, i'll follow up with my Genesis dealer soon, as the pandemic goes slowly away....
Take care, stay safe and healthy!

Let us know what they end up doing for you.

Anyone had to take their 3.3T in for early brake service. I am noticing a vibration / shudder (generally) braking from higher speeds. I’m only at 17k km (11k miles) which seems pretty early for warped rotors or low pads.

Brakes have been great up to this point.
Did they cover ?

Did they cover ?
Thing with these brakes is they will say need to speed around and apply them hard a few times to clean the rotors up and should go away in most cases. Had it slightly and only have 9000 same model.

Did they cover ?
If I recall, first they machined the rotors which made it better but only temporarily. So I took it in again and they changed the rotors out completely, under warranty. Car was back to like new.

Since then, I can feel it getting worse again but not nearly as bad as the first time. For now, knock wood, I feel like it’s normal wear.
