  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Buick LaCrosse vs. Hyundai Genesis - Guess who wins

I leased one of the late 90's Buick Regals. I rented one for over a month when I was on an extended business trip and liked the ride and size so much that I bought one. Suspension had to be replaced in the first 1K miles, and by year 3, it was running rough enough that there was no way I would buy it out. Overall, I liked the experience, but I haven't seriously considered an American car since.

Exactly my point....lots of strides have been made. Hopefully you will give them another try as I did. My 2008 CTS was an awesome car, like driving a premium go-kart. I like my Genesis more every day but if you have any sporting blood in you the CTS rocks. And I have no doubt the Lacrosse will be a very competitve car as well.

An expensive, "premium go-kart" :)

I generally like the CTS, but the too-edgy styling, price tag, and small back seat pushed me to Genesis. Or maybe it's more accurate to say that I went back to Genesis after forcing myself to look at other cars in the price range.

The only reason I got rid of mine was it was the only lease I could transfer (had too many cars). You can get one now for around the same price as a Genesis loaded up pretty good but you can't get a V8. Mine was $40.5K with a lot of features and FE2 suspension which was fantastic.

They tested a pre-production model of the lacrosse I believe.....has anyone seen one in person? It is a very substantial good looking car. The one I saw was loaded to the gills and was $37500 with a $1000 cash incentive. Just a bit more than I paid for the Genesis w/PP.

There are a lot of folks who have formed opinions about current model american cars without actually owning them. They are making good stuff.

Living in Metro Detroit, I've seen plenty of them: parked, driving down the street, and I've sat in one. IMO it looks like the "next" Saturn Aura...meaning it could easily have had a Saturn badge on it and no one would give it a second thought. It's nice looking for sure, but it does not exude luxury in the way the Genesis does, nor does it have its presence.

I can understand Buick fans being excited about it though because it's easily the best looking Buick in decades.
