  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I always assumed that the transfered power train warranty is reduced to 60k/5years but the other ones transfer in full:

5-YEAR/60,000-MILE NEW VEHICLE LIMITED WARRANTY
7-YEAR/UNLIMITED MILES ANTI-PERFORATION WARRANTY
5-YEAR/UNLIMITED MILES 24-HOUR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE
12-MONTH/12,000-MILE REPLACEMENT PARTS AND ACCESSORIES LIMITED WARRANTY

is that correct ?

Bump as I am curious as well and found this in a search. In the market for a used or certified 2009 and curious what the difference is if anyone knows.
Also I was told on the Used Powertrain it stays at 10yr/100k?

See this link: http://www.autoblog.com/2007/06/01/hyundai-offers-big-warranty-on-certified-pre-owned-vehicles/

Basically if you buy a certified pre-owned the 10/100k powertrain warranty is transfered.
If you buy otherwise it reverts back to 5/60k.
Wish we had that in Canada!

I was told that my 2009 Genesis would get "free" oil changes for as long as I owned the car. Now my local dealer says that they will not do "free" any longer. Has anyone else ran into this?

+1
Wouldn't 10 years and 160km radically change the value in the Canadian marketplace!! In an effort to keep the MSRP lower, they scale down the warranty.

Moreover, I would like to see them bring the Hyundai Assurance program to Canada......however have been informed this is not on the radar. Purchasing a car in the US would be a wonderfully satisfying experience......lower pricing and all the added incentives. :D

Do you have anything in writing? Sale agreement, Newspaper ad, brochure from dealer lobby etc.

Don't get me started on that! :)
The way I see it, the main reason that Hyundai is doing the 10/100k thing in the U.S. is because the brand is not perceived as being as desired as it is in Canada.
That then begs the question: does that make us Canadians more informed car buyers? :p
