  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Do you think you can grab a sound clip? Maybe post it in the exhaust section so we don’t get anyone all wound up in the jb4 thread? I know I kinda started this by asking which version you have lol

Yeah I can, I’ll post it there now

I got my used JB4 installed today, but unfortunately I can't use it yet, as it appears the connect kit is locked to the previous owner. I've contacted JB4 support, but I won't be surprised if I have to wait until Monday to hear back. Install was pretty straightforward, pretty similar to the installation of my RaceChip as it used one of the same connection points in the engine bay, and the wiring goes under the engine cover as well. I purchased plug and play fuel wire harnesses from Ebay, and they make fuel wire setup a breeze.

The worst part is the previous owner set the JB4 to Map 0 instead of Map 1, and right now I have no way to switch maps. I had my RaceChip set to race mode 7, so stock on the car feels really slow in comparison.

Have you tried asking the previous owner for his un/pw?

Not a bad idea actually. Should just be a PIN number

The guy I bought it from seems like a super nice guy, but I wouldn't feel right asking for personal information like that.

He did give me his pin number to try, I'll give it a go likely tomorrow. I have doubts it will work though given that I am logged in with a different login than the pin number would be attached to.

I don’t think the pin change was recommended cause the app crashed or something. I’ve never had to enter or change the pin. Just create and account.

Burger Motorsports tech support was super fast, as they have already released the connect kit login so I can use the JB4 app. Surprisingly the JB4 was set to Map 2 and not Map 0 as expected. I'll have to grab a log file to post up for support to check if everything looks ok.

Enjoy!!! Grab some gloves and a helmet.

For now I'm not entirely sure everything is working properly, as I've found myself underwhelmed by the power so far. Once the boost kicks in the car feels much slower than what I was experiencing with the RaceChip Black GTS I had installed previously. I'm hoping that it's just an adjustment period between the car and JB4 and after driving more things will come back to life.

I'm running with 94 octane gas, Denso plugs, diy intakes and a BMS Pedal Tuner, so I have higher performance expectations that what I've experienced so far.

The JB4 has a lot more safety measures built in. Make sure you update to latest firmware version as well.

Once I have a log file it should be easier to tell if there is an issue of some sort. The guy I bought it from said he bought the device new in July, so I don't imagine the firmware is too far out of date.

94 is good for Map 2. You should definitely feel a difference. If not...something is wrong.

For Map 3...and full potential...you need to up the octane...like close to 98 or 99. Trust me on this one.

On my drive home from work in the morning I'm going to try switching to Map 1 to see how things feel. I've heard that the 94 octane Petro Canada gas I filled up with isn't the greatest, so that could possibly be part of the problem here.

You in GTA?

Just wondering what I need to do to obtain a fully populated JB4 log. Do I start from a standstill and run up to full rpm through several gears or something of that sort?

Just get 2 runs. 0 to what ever your laws allow. Do another from 10mph on up.

@Beefer, you're "just" running the JBL, yes? No exhaust/intake mods?

Trying to map out my performance upgrades and allocate dollars.

Thanks.
