  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

so anyone getting this? I'm very tempted... though concerned about warranty... and this spark plug conversation.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
If you didn't have to touch the plugs I might buy it just to try since it is relatively cheap. But the warranty is a big plus for me to know I don't have to worry about anything for 100,000km. I wouldn't want to do anything to chance losing that.

This is for @Terry @ BMS

Does the piggyback mess with the exhaust note at all? Not the internal artificial noise...but the real deal.

I agree with you, this car has tons of power and feels very quick, i would love a rocket ship but i am not voiding warranty or risking something happening and then trying to xon the dealership saying it was not modified

I'm doing it for sure. Remember...you are not touching the ECU. This is an inline "piggyback". I am definitely taking the chance.

I am hoping someone in the Edmonton area gets it and is nice enough to give me a ride... maybe then I will change my mind. :)

For me, I think the potential negatives outweigh any positives. If I decide I want a rocket, I'll just go with the Mustang. But I think the G70 will be quick enough to suit me. The question is, will I ever get a chance to actually drive one this year. I think I may start sniffing out what sorts of deals are available on some alternatives as their model year end rolls around.

Currently no we don't change anything when not under boost. When making boost you'll be making more of it, so expect a stronger exhaust note at full throttle. :)

I know it's not a G70 but, close. From our Stinger forum post:

Was able to sneak out for a couple 1/4 mile test runs on the new Stinger JB4 v3 firmware with fuel control. Test car is 100% stock with around 30% E85 fuel and Denso spark plugs. Weather in the mid 70s. Running our new pretty aggressive map5.

Very pleased with the result! We'll be working on releasing the fuel wires this week and then once done we've got some additional tuning ideas to try to break down deeper in to the 12s.

Can you determine a 0-60 time out of that?

I think my best is around 4.5s in the Stinger, so far.

But I thought the Stinger already did 4.7. So you are better by only 0.2 seconds?

With all those crazy gains...I would have thought at least 0.5 seconds better.
the best 0-60 run so far is 4.4 seconds on a stock stinger. but there's more to it then just the numbers. if terry's previous best was 5.0, then 4.5 would be that .5 second improvement. he's not out there all day trying to get the best times, just trying to gauge what the tune is doing.

but yes the real question here is how much difference the tune is making. if it's making a lot more power, expect better times. i'm going to guess that most of us won't get great times without a lot of practice.

No my Stinger did 5s+ stock so I'm looking at the relative improvement.

Also on times make sure it's measured properly. A lot of these magazines use optimistic testing equipment with a 12' roll out setting that reports times faster than they actually are. I use dragy for all testing: dragy - GPS Based Performance Meter - Free Shipping in USA
