Hasn't posted much yet...
Recently the Buschur Racing Inline Manual Boost Controller has become a hot seller for the Genesis Coupe. With all of the boost controllers going out the door here I wanted to put together a post for everyone purchasing them so they know exactly how to install it when it arrives.
Its VERY simple and is done in just a couple of minutes.
What you're actually doing is by-passing the factory boost control solenoid so YOU can control the boost as needed. It is VERY important that you leave the unit hooked up electronically or you will get a check engine light. The ports on the factory boost control solenoid you just leave open to the atmosphere.
What you see below are the 2 hoses that you will be working with. Line # 1 and Line #2.
Line #1 you see will runs all the way down to the compressor housing on the turbocharger. Line #2 runs from the front of the factory boost control solenoid.
1. Using a pair of needle nose pliers slide the spring clamps from the connections holding the lines to the solenoid.
2. Pull the lines from the solenoid.
3. Pick up your BR Inline MBC in hand. You will notice an arrow on the boost controller. That is telling you which way the air flows through the controller.
4. Line #1 will go to the IN line nipple on the BR Inline MBC.
5. Line #2 will go on the OUT nipple.
6. Re-Connecting Line 1 and 2 to the BR Inline MBC will complete your vacuum circuit.
7. Route and clip in your tubing so it looks neat. Be sure your lines are not rubbing any pulleys or anything hot where they could be melted.
8. You're finished and are ready to go set your boost. Each line on the Buschur Racing Inline Manual Boost Controller is a pound of boost. Adjust your boost accordingly as needed. When the unit arrives to you it is set at the lowest possible boost it can run it and that is your wastegate pressure.
NOTE: The factory vacuum lines on the Genesis Coupe are very high quality but they are rather small. They fit the Buschur Racing Inline Manual Boost Controller PERFECTLY! I do not think this will be the case with other aftermarket boost controllers so you may find yourself replacing the nice re-enforced factory vacuum lines in order to accommodate other MBC's. Just something to pay attention to if ordering a boost controller other than the BR unit.
