  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is it possible to retrofit the new 3D cluster from the non US 2022 G70 into the 2021 US G70? They look to be the exact same size dimensionally. Same with the larger infotainment screen.

Very good question. I'm skeptical, but am happy to be proven wrong. I couldn't even switch out the OEM Korean Domestic Market Headlights on my 2015 Genesis sedan. For some inexplicable reason the body control module was different.

Maybe? For what it's worth my 2021 3.3T Sport came with the 3D gauge cluster that was only available in Korea the past few years. So maybe that would be an easier swap vs the 2022 3D cluster?

This could be true but to be honest, I didn't really like that version of the 3D cluster. Too much like a video game. I really love the one that comes in the my GV70 which is the same as I was describing above, far more.

I thought about this when I bought the car. I would love to know but we won’t until someone tries it. My guess is that the harness is different. It also may need other software to work but it’s really going to be a trial and error thing.

Good point! I wish this was possible. Someone early on mentioned it would be good for as many people to write Genesis to voice bringing the 3D cluster to the US for the facelift G70. I heard the reason the 3D cluster, power trunk lid and heated rear seats were not available in the US at this time was due to supply issues.
Fortunately, in this recent YouTube video on the Genesis USA page, the red Sport Prestige HAS the 12.3" 3D cluster that is calibrated in MPH. Soooo fingers crossed that this is just a temporary supply issue.

That’s interesting. I’m in Canada and we got the power trunk and heated rear seats but not the digital gauge cluster. It was one of the things I wrote about during my JD Power Survey.

I would honestly love to retrofit mine as I’m a big tech guy so if it was possible I would. If I can’t then I’ll just live with what is still a fine dash but could be better. Objectively the dash in the current car may age better due to the traditional speedo but I still wish it was full digital.

I have the digital gauges in my 2021 as well. They do nothing for me. I always have them set to what looks like traditional gauges. But keep in mind I’m an old guy :)

I don't think so. It has the tech that tracks your eyes, so it probably has more wiring to connect and hook up.

Would definitely make the switch if possible.

When I was asked by Genesis to review the car this was one of the points I made in the something like “what did you find disappointing?” section. Said it was kind of BS that the Korean Market got the 3D cluster and NA didn’t. Although I‘m hoping that it means it is an easy swap but not getting my hopes up.

Im fairly certian it is a plug and play swap. However, you need to have someone with a KDS to program the cluster to the car. Been trying to find the part number so I can give it a go but haven't found one .

I'm in on this thread. I do like the original traditional cluster in my car but the digitals are nice!
