  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Can we swap instrument clusters?

Im fairly certian it is a plug and play swap. However, you need to have someone with a KDS to program the cluster to the car. Been trying to find the part number so I can give it a go but haven't found one .

Any luck with this? I'd love to do it.

I think this is the part number. Seems to be about $3,000. Ouch.

3.3T engine
Part number 94023-G9060

2.0 gasoline engine
Part number 94023-G9500

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I found the part numbers and sources from a few spots around the world last year, posted them up in the G70 FB group.
The pricing for the part ranges from $3000-7500 USD.
There are videos on Youtube from Korea showing a Mobis shop swap out a normal cluster for the 3D cluster so I assume that it is plug-n-play.
Your odometer would not follow where your old one left off and would need to be recorded at time of swapping.

There is a guy on Stinger Forums and FB groups that offers instrument cluster reprogramming services. Stingers came either with a basic 3.5" LCD or a 7" Supervision that displays a lot more parameters. You can't really do a straight R&R with a different one, because different trims (GT2/GT1 vs. GT, etc.) came with different options, so the new fanicer instrument panel might query the ECU for parameters related to features that are not present in the new host car, and/or the ECU doesn't know about. Most of the basic functions will likely still work, like RPM, speedometer, temp, etc. because they are share on all trim levels.

I suspect it would be the same scenario with the G70. Maybe even a bit more complicated because of the 3D display.

Anyhow, the guy's name is Jeff Hulbert. He has a YT channel:
You might try contacting him and see what he says about the G70.

Maybe? For what it's worth my 2021 3.3T Sport came with the 3D gauge cluster that was only available in Korea the past few years. So maybe that would be an easier swap vs the 2022 3D cluster?
Hey do you know the part number of your 3d cluster?

Is there I can get the vin or the part number ?

In Korea, you could drop your car off at an aftermarket shop where they do retrofit as a service. But here in the US you have to figure out everything yourself...

In my case, I have a 2022 USA-spec G70 3.3T RWD in Sport Prestige trim and want to add the power trunk and full digital cluster.

The procedure for swapping the cluster is outlined in the sevice manual. You need 3 things:

1. A New Cluster
Easy to find and order.

2. Genesis GDS (scanner / programming tool)
The cheapest route is to make friends with someone who has this, know a tech at the dealer, or buy a cloned one. The real ones go for about $2500.

3. The "Variant Code"
This is my current blocker. The variant code tells the car / component what other modules to expect. But how does one find or calculate a variant code?

Once you have those three things the procedure is a piece of cake.

So the Korean G70s have a fully digital cluster? Why the heck we didn't get it in the US? Even the freaking Kona (a much cheaper car, and also with an old platform) got it, but not the 'premium' G70? That sucks. And same thing with the power trunk. Oh well. It's too much trouble, so I'm not going to mess with any of that. But thank you for posting what's involved. Good luck, and keep us posted on your progress.

For 2023, the power trunk is back but only for the Sport/Advance Prestige. The 3D gauge cluster and the heated rear seats are features still omitted.

And 3.3T only. The top line 2.0T is now called Sport Prestige as well, but it lacks all the Prestige options of the 3.3T, so it should have been called the Sport Advance instead. Don't understand why not offer all features of the 3.3T on the 2.0T, especially with the current gas/emissions situation, but it is what it is. Folks like us want the most efficient small sedan, but want it luxurious as well. At least the top trim 2023 2.0T now includes ventilated seats, or would have been out of consideration. It also should come with ultra high-performance A/S tires, rather than summer ones with the little engine, so will have to spend over a grand extra on that. Oh well. Hope the wife likes it, or it'd have to be another EV, which we wanted to avoid until a few years from now, for better reliability and charging infrastructure. I'd seriously consider an Ionic5, since we don't want another Tesla.

I've been looking for the CLU variant code for a while as well. The Hyundai Tech Info site is supposed to give you your current CLU Variant Code but doesn't (I only get ACU) back. There seems to be some kind of Russian hacking software that manages to calculate the CLU code and it (allegedly) works on the G70. Here's the site or Google for the CAN-Coder-New on a site called canhacker.

I think I found the part number, some guy was selling one on eBay! Its 94071-G9520, if it means anything to anyone. I wish I could afford one lol.

Do you happen to know it for the gv70?

I just bought it. Am curious if I can mess around with it and see if it’s just plug and play

Looking forward to hearing what the results are.

Same.

If I knew the 3D cluster from Korea would be easy enough to get working, I would probably spring to get it but I'm not sure what the difficulty level would be..

I'm waiting in anticipation... Did it work!?
I'm hoping it works! I spend hours trying to find the part number. I don't get on here often and just saw that someone bought it! I hope he posts soon about it.
