  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Carfax, damage & accidents? Bargain or time bomb?

Everyone's driving is different, but I changed mine at 33,000. Could have gone more, but I was heading out on a 4000 mile trip and did not need a tire problem along the way.
Hope the deal works out for you.

Thanks. Do you also have a v8?

I'm getting the 5.0. The front & rear tires are different sizes. So you can't rotate them, and they wear out faster

True, but not dramatically so. You should still be in the early 30s.

Good to know. I thought is was half or close to it. Regardless, I’m getting a tread tool today...😉

True. But that only tells me if the tire is too worn or not. If they’re “close” I might try to angle for new tires, or a discount. Plus it may make me look like I know what I’m doing 😜
Can't argue with that. ;)

Weird. It doesn't FEEL like I have a new car

Guess you can't send messages, either. It's Rick Case Kia. Just down the street from their Hyundai dealer. This car showed up at the Kia dealer on Memorial Day weekend. Looks good on their website. They made a little phone video for me, walking around the car. They claim to put the car through a 150 point inspection, and they give it a 3rd party 10yr/100k mile warranty, so assuming it's not all BS, it's basically the same as CPO. It only had one key, and when I asked, they found a second one (and all-season floor mats). So we'll see how it goes. I haven't asked about the condition of the tires, but with only 25k miles on the car, they're probably the originals and are due for replacement soon. If I buy the car (alternative is to spend $200 on a plane ticket home) I'll probably drive up the street to the Hyundai dealer and try to buy the extended warranty right afterwards. Last time they quoted me $2571. Wonder what it will be this time?
Can't figure out how to PM, have to borrow a 5yr old to show me how

The deal fell through?

No, I got the car. It just doesn't feel like anything' different. Probably because I always have a rental car in Miami.

So far: looks like something is hanging from the undercarriage (like the plates that protect it aren't fastened properly and are sagging in the middle; there are some yellowish stains on the rear seat, and one of the rear windows won't go down...

I don't think we are allowed at our level. Hopefully you weren't going to tell me something terrible about RC Kia 😜

Congrats. glad you found what you were looking for. Are you going to be able to have the dealer correct the issues before you head north? Don't forget to change your status. You are a full-fledged member of the crew.
