Center Console LED

Has anyone seen the small white rectangle on the inside back wall of the center console on the 2015 Genesis? Is that for a light or something?

Would be nice to have a small down facing LED to light the area or an additional USB outlet, or both.

I may try to mess with it this weekend, but I just got my Genesis tonight so I haven't taken the tools to it yet... Still trying to setup all the tech.

Ok... I looked. It is a light on my Ultimate. There is one in the back of the center console, under the small inserted tray. Also there is one in the area under the climate controls by the USB and 12v outlets. Both like up nicely on mine.

Have the 5.0 Ultimate and it lights up.

Just saw mine lit up yesterday. I'l try to get some pics today.

On a modding note, I wonder how much power is coming to the LED assembly... I'm not going to pull it out right now.

Mine only works in when car is on I guess that’s normal. You would think over wise.

Guess what the Korean model has... an additional 12V and USB location in the center console. Check out the attachment.

That actually look like it's the pull down, rear seat armrest/console to me - not the front. The front console doesn't open that way (and I can see the perforated leather seat underneath it).

Guess I should just be happy I have my beautiful Genesis in the garage.

Based on the fact that the door sill wiring on the 3.8 was not present, I'll bet the USB power is not there in the back.Not too hard to look though. I may give it a shot.

I would love to know I you come across anything. It would be great to have additional power for passengers in the rear seats.
