If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Can anyone give me some help as to how to remove the two lenses on the center dome lights, I want to changeout to LED bulbs on my 10 Genny 4.6
Thanks

The dome lights in all gennys (lights by the sunroof lever and the lights for the rear behind the sunroof) are already LED. Which is why they are very white and bright already.

althought it was quite easy for me, changing out the LEDs in the dome lights its a bit of a process most people dont want to endeavor. it requires desoldering/soldering and extensive disassembly of the housing. regular LEDs will not plug and play into the housing because Hyundai uses a proprietary LED that you will not find anywhere else. i suggest using an LED board with a bunch of LEDS on it (see link at the bottom).

inside the sunglass holder, there are 2 phillips screws holding the housing to the headliner, unscrew those and disconnect the connectors for the lights and the sunroof. the housing should come right out.
use a small flathead screw driver or nylon pry tool to pop out the 2 clear lenses.
Now use a small flathead again to pop out the 2 (1 for each led) plastic pieces/light director things.
there are some screws inside, remove those.
on the backside of the housing there is a plastic cover/shroud covering the circuitboard/connections.
(im not sure which screws inside to remove, im doing this post off of memory)
you need to desolder the 3 wires going to each led circuit and solder your new lights onto them. heres a thread i made a while ago explaining this..... http://www.genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/showthread.php?t=9052

if you still need help feel free to let me know :) good luck

Thanks so much for your help. Your photos really make it a fairly simple retrofit.
Thanks again :)

Where did you purchase the replacement LED's?

Simple fix go to the junk yard found the same one different color interior and change them from there. You can't buy them unfortunately. But mine is working fine now. Spent $35.00
