  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Certified Pre-Owned Wrap

Hi,
I also purchased a CPO 5.0 Ultimate last week. The dealership I got it from (Jim Ellis, Atlanta) was initially offered me the Platinum Warranty for $2800. I did try other dealerships ( mentioned by other members who got it for significantly lesser cost) but could not get it any cheaper. So, I negotiated the warranty price and got it for $1595.
Hope that helps !

Who was your contact? I sent an email message to Haub Cao, but he never replied. Thanks!

I returned to Win Hyundai Carson (Southern California) where they originally offered me the Hyundai CPO Wrap Platinum extended warranty for $2,700 when I purchased my 2015 Genesis 3.8 (tech package).

I met with Finance Manager Eric Choi yesterday and told him I would purchase the CPO Wrap from his dealership if they sold it to me for $1,500. He immediately stated that he could not sell it to me for such a low price because his dealership would be losing money. Choi then told me he would check with his supervisor what price they can offer me. Choi came back with $2,000. I declined.

I told Choi I was quoted $1,500 from another dealership. Choi asked me which dealership? I answered, "It doesn't really matter, since you're not even in the ballpark for my business." Choi stated he would check again with his supervisor. Choi returned and lowered their price to $1,895. I informed Choi that I was not interested and would take my business elsewhere.

Choi tried to persuade me to meet him halfway at $1,700. Choi even added that the other Hyundai dealerships in the area won't give me a better price. I responded telling Choi that he's probably right, but I was purchasing my CPO Wrap from an out of state dealership.

He thought I was bluffing (and I was). He continued stating I should go ahead and buy from the out of state dealership. I got up from my chair ready to walk out the door, but Choi stopped me. He asked me what's the name of the dealership? I told him Jim Ellis, Atlanta, Georgia. Choi requested he talk to his supervisor one last time. Choi returned and agreed to sell me the extended warranty for $1,500, the lowest price in California so far.

Thanks everyone for all your posts!

Thank you gaggan82 for giving me a great baseline! Jim Ellis never quoted me $1,500. I just took your price and rounded down to $1,500 to fish for a deal. I don't think Jim Ellis would have given me your price, since I didn't buy from them, but it was worth trying with my dealership and it worked.

How dare you lie to a car salesman. LOL
