  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi all, I've changed my license plates to LED's when I first got the car but unfortunately now one i blinking like crazy so I have to change it out.

Now the thing is, changing these are a pain in the butt. I tried last night to take the light cover off and it's so hard to get out and I had trouble with it, am I only one or is there a special tool that makes this easier to take the cover off after you unscrew it?

I managed to do it last night but this took around 1-2 hours spending on this.
I'm debating if I should just have the dealer change them for me and let them deal with this.

curious....How much did you pay for the LED's?

I think it was like $10 or something, but it was the LED light that I dropped when installing but I managed to put back together, so that is more then likely the reason lol it lasted 7 months surprisingly.

it was very easy for me. unscrew the 2 screws for each light cover, take 2 screwdrivers and put one in each hole. push them outwards so they grab onto it but not hard enough to break it. then just pull and wiggle up and down and the cover will come right out. took me about 10 mins to take off, install bulbs, and replace cover for both lights.

any little item that will fit in screw holes will do the trick-screwdriver-nail-etc.
wiggle-pull toward you.once off,use needle nose pliers to hold one end in
receptacle and push the other in with the other hand.the cover will slide
to left and right also.I used the 6418 sylvania leds,$ 13.00 apiece.pretty pricey I think.
