Child Seat in 2015/2016 Genesis

Looking to lease a 3.8 Tech/Ultimate in the very near future. Would like to know if anybody on here uses a child seat in their Genesis, especially an infant rear facing seat for newborns. Any complaints about space or getting the seat in and out. Also any complaints on cargo space for stuff like stroller in the trunk? Need to convince my wife that we don't need a huge SUV and that the Genesis is the way to go

Would also like to know any recent lease deals you guys got. Best offer I have so far is $450 with $2k out on Tech and a check to me for the 3 remaining payments on my current lease for $1250.

Back seat is pretty roomy and door opening is good too. My daugher was front face by time i got the car but i can't see you having any issues. I have pretty big stroller and i dont have issues either

Any sedan is not exactly easy access for a child seat however if you need to compare, the Genesis does well in it's category. Much easier with a smaller or bigger style SUV, mini vans or squarish style cars like Nissan, cube, Fiat 500L, Kia Soul.

I've only had my 2 year old daughter's car seat in the Genesis 3 times because we usually drive my wife's car around town on short errands and to keep the Genesis cleaner. I've had to install and remove the car seat each time. The first time installing the front facing car seat was a little difficult getting one of the hooks attached since the leather was a little tight but after that it was much easier. The rear door swings opens much further than our Fusion and the door opening is a little wider, so actually getting the car seat into the car is a breeze.

The rear seat manual sunshades and rear window automatic sunshade have been great when we have taken longer trips and wanted our daughter to rest/nap. I wish we had these in our other car when she was younger when her eyes were more sensitive to the sun while she tried to sleep.

I highly recommend getting a heavy duty car seat mat to protect the soft leather:

I have had both a rear-facing infant seat and a front-facing toddler seat in the Genesis at the same time with no problem. In the case of the rear-facing seat, you won't be able to move the front seat back all the way, but it's not a huge deal (I am 6'2 and I can still drive comfortably with the infant seat behind me, just not as luxurious as without it). Note with two car-seats you essentially lose the entire back-seat, unless you want to stuff someone in the middle between the seats.

Also, I am able to fit a sequential double stroller in the trunk, and that's in addition to 2 12" sub-woofers in an enclosure. We also own an Acadia so I will say that it's definitely easier loading up the Acadia, but it's not too bad with the Genesis.

There is plenty of room for rear facing and front facing child car seats. the trunk also has plenty of space for a stroller. We have moved on to booster seats now, but I had a 2012 Genesis with the rear facing seat, then my son was big enough last year for me to go front facing, after I bought my 2015 Genesis. We had one of those large Chicco "system" strollers and it fit perfectly in the trunk with room to spare. The 2015 has more room in the back. You will be fine.

Super easy to use car seats, had one infant and one convertible. Trunk is awesome can fit so much in it, more than a lot of small suv

the only issue I have with the car seat is when they get older and start using a booster. I find it hard to reach the latch for the seat belt as it's recessed down into the seat and hard to see beside the booster seat.

Really wish I had thought to search for a "car seat protector". I spent weeks buying multiple car seats until i found one with a base that would not deform or damage the leather. Ugghhhhh!

I put my 3 year olds front facing seat in the middle, fits decently. There are no car seat anchors for the middle row so I ended up putting the seat belt as an anchor, which is acceptable and within the design of most baby seats forward facing, rear facing I'm not sure. Setup in the middle isn't perfect, if the baby seat head restraint is set high then it blocks a portion of the rear window. You also lose access to the center arm rest and the heated seat controls. I'd rather lose that than lose an entire seat though, as putting the seat on one of the ends pretty much leaves you with one seat for a regular sized human and one seat in the middle for maybe a kid.

I got a pretty good deal I think. 399 with 2500 down, that was out the door including TTL and first month on a 12mo/36k with sig package. $450 on a tech with 2k down sounds very good.

I know this was posted a long time ago, but what brand of front facing car seat did you get? I will have two kids traveling in my 3.8 Ultimate, both front facing. Thanks!
