  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

About a week ago both of them just randomly stopped working, but the blue light around the front one still turns on. Does anyone know the location of the fuse for the front and back cigarette lighters and what its called? i looked in all 3 fuse boxes and the owners manual but couldn't find any that could be related. Have any of you blown the cig lighter fuse?

check the acc socket relay fuse.

The fuse you are looking for is in the fuse box on the right side of the engine compartment towards the front. It is a 25 amp fuse. This fuse provides power to the 15 and 10 amp fuses in the passanger side fuse box. The 15 amp fuse is for the cigarette lighter next to the ash tray and the 10 amp is for the power plug in the storage compartment next to the USB plug.

thanks. do you know what the name of the fuse is?

nevermind, found it! so i guess this is the main fuse for the cigarette lighters. ahhh now i can finally charge my phone in the car again. thank you!

Your welcome. I'm glad to help. It took me awhile to hunt that bugger down.

I think it's called a power port, not a rear cigarette lighter. ,-)

Thank for the help- I had both ports blown- it was the 25 AMP under the hood. Now up and running! :D

Um, I've never called it a power port. I have never heard of anyone calling it that either.

I guess we are even. The Genesis has no cigar lighter under the arm rest.

Just wanted to thanks for posting this. Saved me what I'm sure would have been hours. I found the 25Amp fuse on the "other right side" :D of my engine compartment and fixed the problem in short order. Thanks again for making the effort to post the info.

This post saved me a lot of confusion. Thanks. I checked the 10 and 15 amp fuses by the passenger door and they were fine. I was about to schedule an appointment with the dealer until I tried here first.

Glad I did.

When you say right side I think of sitting in the car and that lost me I was looking at the passenger side. Its on the drivers side the passenger side does not have a 25 amp fuse 2009 4.6 V8.

Yeah, same issue here. Both front power plugs stopped working.

Checked all in-cabin fuses....all good.

Problem was 25a fuse in engine compartment on drivers side. Open box cover, its the white fuse on the right side middle.

There are spare fuses inside the passenger side engine compartment fuse box. A row with one of each type along the top.

Both power plugs (cigarette lighter plugs) work just fine now.

By the way, my 25a fuse blew with only 1.5amps of load. One cell phone charger. Go figure.

Gee, hope this car is not going to be an electrical problem.

I'm glad I found this forum. I just bought a used 2011 Genesis and have the cigarette/console power outlet problem...although as with others, my USB power is working. I will try the 25amp swap and see what happens.

I'm having this problem as well. I have the fuse box opened right now but there's no white fuse. 2011 4.6. Please help

The 15 amp fuse is for the cigarette lighter 12V socket next to the ash tray and the 10 amp is for the 12V power socket in the storage compartment in the back. The fuses will always blow if u try n use the USB plug in the front of the storage compartment for charging ur phone. Buy a UBS adapter for either 12v power socket n use that to charge whatever.

I know this is an old thread, but it seems to be the definitive one on the cigarette lighters. I just wanted to mention that all my power outlet fuses on my 2016 Genesis Sedan 3.8 are 20a and they are all under the drive dash. In my case, two of the three were blown. There was only one spare 20a under the dash so I pulled a spare from the engine compartment fuse box and replaced both.
