  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello all, I don't know if this has concern has a thread already but here it goes....
I have been arguing back and forth with other owner(Benz, jag..exit) about what to use to clean the interior of my genni. I have a signature series v6 and I am going to use Armor All protecting wipes. Here are some questions
1. Does Armorall damage the wood trimming?
2. If Armorall isn't a good choice then what works best?

My co-workers always have their car detailed so they really have no clue as to what is used to clean their cars.

Thanks in advance

Armor-all will NOT damage the wood but doesn't necessarily help it either other than adding a sheen to it. If you really want to "help" the wood, use a good quality wood oil like "Marveer" etc

My company is the leading restorer of wood in the USA - www.park-ward.com so do not let anyone else convince you otherwise.

I just wipe down the interior with a clean damp microfiber towel.

I dont like the oily shiny stuff like Armor-all.

For the seats/leather parts, i use Lexicol Leather cleaner/conditioner.

Thanks for the info salaburg. I will definitely will buy this product.
I tried the damped cloth but it just doesn't look clean(to me).
Anyone else has had good results with any other products?

Lexicon for the leather... Got it. How often do you apply it on the seats?

I use Ditto to the T what Ctk states above... No Armor-ALL either. I use the Lexicol every three months on my car. If I have a spot that needs cleaning in between I use the Lexicol cleaner then follow it up with the conditioner.

I use and swear by Griot's Garage products, http://www.griotsgarage.com, and I buy them from Amazon.

Their "Interior Cleaner" is an excellent all purpose cleaner for everything inside the car, including the headliner. I use their leather specific products every few weeks to keep the seats well conditioned.

I have the matte wood finish in my car and have not yet found a wood specific product i am comfortable with.

AEROSPACE 303 Cleaner and AEROSPACE 303 Protectanct are excellent products for there prurposes. Can be used on multiple surface(dash, upholstery and carpet (ffor cleaner)and the protectant leaves a silicone free soft natural sheen...not a gloss. Check it out at DETAILED IMAGE.com

Just a heads up, the 'wood' on the Signature and Tech packages is not real wood, you only get that with the Ultimate package. Still looks great, but just not real wood so you probably don't have worry about using specific wood surface cleaners.
