  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is Tony your contact? If so, then yes he is on here. Great guy. He will sort you out.

Tony is not my contact. Airforce gave me another person to contact. Guess there are two reps then.

I would probably try springs personally if you can't do the Bilsteins. BC BR coilovers are not well matched together and in other cars can't historically hold up to light track use (in off-the-shelf, non-custom specs that is). A coilover that can't hold up to the use that is the entire purpose of a coilover shouldn't exist IMHO. They have no R&D behind them. They are essentially random parts from a collective parts bin thrown together. People who buy into BC and their associated brands (BC makes Megan coilover for the record) tend to buy them because they don't know what makes a good suspension and look into price only or listen to the uninformed advice of others who made that same decision before them.

There are a only a couple factors that usually go into buying springs/coilovers. Most of them come down to height adjustment and the next factor being cost. The type of use you are referring to is a full season of driving for a purpose built car or some other long duration of extreme driving. In those situations I could see spending upwards of $5,000 as they will have better adjustment, are usually longer lasting, and there for more cost effective for a professional team.
For the purpose of most people they are looking for something to lower the car and maybe give a small bump in driving performance. I personally would be looking for something cost effective, improves ride quality, and lowers the car somewhat. I think in my and most people's situations BC Racing coilovers are more than effective in reaching our goals.
Lowering springs will give you the look, but most of the time they have a more firm ride which would be something that maybe everyone’s not looking for. BC Racing coilovers come with a stock spring rate of 12K front and 8K rear but you can customize those to your liking to achieve a softer ride. I would also say that the ability to raise or lower the car is a plus over springs.
But the biggest factor in this particular situation is the lack of choice. I would love to rock some KW Variant 3s but unfortunately they don't make them for the Genesis Sedan. What is offered is what is offered and I would choose BC racing at the moment.

BC just built a set specifically for the V8, and a member who does track his assisted in the R&D. He seems to really like what they were able to provide.

I have my set on the way. Third set of BC's, and love them. I could not recommend a different brand, since I have no experience. That being said, I would not need to give how BC's have performed for me. The customer service is top notch as well. That is worth the purchase in itself.

Some people get stuck on name brand and cost to determine if something is of good value. But I think if most of the people who actually own the cars used this logic they would have never bought a Hyundai to begin with.
