i'm assuming it would be a landslide, it should be. but im curious for those that have driven both what you think. i got a 14 impala new and love the decent power in the 3.6. love the smooth ride and it has all the features i want. but at 240K it's burning oil and the 3rd trans is slipping. thats why i dont think i want to buy a 2020 impala to replace it. obviously it's not a sports car at all but i still dont slow down under 85 around the bends on the highway.
will the 2018 g80 3.8 take those corners better...smoother ride....same features and more as the impala? if yes then im likely in. will the trans be more reliable? my impala would be 5700 today to replace so i'm assuming the g80 is a ton more and i really dont want to ever have to do that. that being said i wont be going up to 240K in the car since ill be retired next year.
used 2018 g90 is $36K vs 25K for the g80 where i live and theres only one v8 g90 around to compare. i dont want turbo. i feel when i retire next year, and stop going 30K miles a year, that the G90 would be a bit of a waste and overkill for me to be sitting in the garage. no matter how nice it is.
this is the g80 i plan to drive soon
was a corporate car then a lease.
i have yet to talk to my mechanic, who is 3 blocks from my house , but thats where all the work would be done on it. is there any issue getting parts for the cars to a local shop? but nothing will ever go wrong with it...right?
edit:been reading the forums and just discovered apparently start stop is mandatory on all cars now and ive seen the credit card trick post to keep it permanently off but dang if all the cars have it maybe i dont want a newer one..sigh
