Complete electrical failure

Auto hold engages your e-brake once you come to a complete stop. It disengages as soon as you touch the throttle. Using the e-brake, if it fails the Auto Hold will be unable to work.

Its a party of lights and then its not? The car runs fine and then when the ESC comes on the car seems to slow and then speed up? I'm guessing all of these are on one relay or one line and the EPB is also part of that connection. Very frustrating that its acting up with only 65k on the car.

It sounds to me that at least one of the rear wheel speed Sensors is bad/not reading the rotation speed of the wheel, so for safety sake (I know, it sounds counter intuitive) it shuts both ESC and the EPB off. Most cars use the wheel speed sensors for traction control, electronic stability control, brake force distribution and of course, the Anti-lock Braking System. If one of those speed sensors at the rear stops working, the module no longer keeps control of the line pressure to modulate the brakes since it can no longer read the wheel speed. With our cars, the Traction Control, EPB, ABS, and ESC are tied together. So when you see ESC light up for no reason, it could just be that the Traction Control isn't working, or the Traction Control is working but the actual Brake force distribution circuit has stopped working so the system won't intervene if you're about to fishtail/spin out/understeer etc. I've had this happen on my last 2 cars, the wheel speed sensor got gunked up with snow and the system couldn't read the wheel speed anymore. I still had ABS, but no traction control and no Electronic Stability Management. Took the car to the car wash, sprayed the underside and cleared out the snow from the wheel area and magically it was all good again.

So, I would start with the rear wheel speed sensor since it's also effecting the Electronic Parking Brake.

Does the R-Spec only have one WHEEL SPEED SENSOR? I can only find the left one for sale on ebay. Thanks

No, it should have 4, one for each wheel. At least I would think so since it's linked to the ABS and stability control.
I could only find one front and one rear though. Weird. I'd call your dealer and have them look it up.

I just wanted to update this thread. I had the electronic E Brake module replaced at the dealer $$$ and they Flushed out the Transmission fluid and Reset it as well. The car is running really good and shifting perfectly. Thanks for all the feedback and I will keep up on the other maintenance needs and filters. So glad I joined this forum and love the car. Amazing power and grace all in one car. Wow

How much did they charge to change the e brake module? Was any of the speed sensors bad?

Yeah after it was all said and done it was about 2k and what a pain in the arse but it sits above the transmission so its the Labor that killed me.
