Mark its a white mahle filter. I can upload a picture later when my wife is off the computer.

That may be the wrong oil filter for a 2010 Genesis V6. There has been a lot of confusion about this, and even some dealers are confused. The original Hyundai OEM filter was made by Mann-Hummel and has black hard plastic end caps. The V8 uses a OEM filter made by Mahle with white end-caps (like in your pics).

What you can't tell from the above, but which I know to be true, is that the filter above with List Price of $6.85 is the Mann-Hummel filter with black end-caps, and the one that with List Price of $10.89 is the Mahle (like the one in your car).

I don't know if this is your problem, but my 2009 Genesis V6 makes no unusual noise, even at start up. I have done all the oil changes on my car, and always used the OEM filter with black end-caps. Here is a picture of the Mann-Hummel filter with black end-caps (this is the WIX version, but is the exact same as the Hyundai OEM one):

Another possible problem, even if the Mahle filter is an acceptable replacement, is the mechanic tightens the plastic filter cap too tight, deforming the filter. There are pics of this happening in other threads on this forum.
