  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The online version of Consumer Reports on Monday released the results of their extensive road test of the V6 AWD 2015 Genesis. They rated the Genesis very favorably.

Only 4 cars scored higher in the luxury large car category: Mercedes Benz E250 Blue Tec (overall score 93), then Audi A6/Audi A7/Infiniti Q70 tied for second place with an overall score of 90. Third was the Genesis (overall score 89).

From their Genesis report:

Highs-Ride, braking, quietness, slick powertrain, plush interior, long warranty, value.

Lows-Overzealous lane-keeping assist.

The sensitivity of the Lane Keep Assist can be set at 3 different levels. I wonder if Consumer Reports realized this?

Read the entire CR report and quite frankly 98% of everything they say is very favourable. One thing I noticed was the 7.2 sec 0-60 time of the AWD V6 which seems slow from everything I have read so far. For those who question whether the upgrade from Gen 1 to Gen 2 is worth it.

Changes from the previous version: Bigger, plusher, and with far more equipment, the redesigned Genesis is a big step up from the 2009-2014 model. The biggest change was the addition of available all-wheel drive -- important for luxury cars buyers in wintry climates. Ride comfort and interior finish are also considerably improved.

I actually cross shopped the Benz E250 Blue Tec. Nice car but not as up to date as the Genesis in fact fairly dated interior, exterior is very nice. Milage was unbelievable, it actually beats out the Prius in overall efficiency. Biggest issue was forever delivery time and about $25,000 more when all was said and done and ending up with a blown 4 banger diesel which cannot hold a candle to the V8, sure does sip fuel though. One thing for sure is resale value on this diesel will kill the Genesis big time. Read this..http://www.roadandtrack.com/go/news/americas-most-fuel-efficient-new-car-is-not-a-toyota-prius

This is what CR says about the diesel.
Our modestly-equipped E250 4Matic sedan cost nearly $63,000. As terrific as it is, that's a lot of money for a four-cylinder car without a real leather interior that will lose in a stoplight drag race with a four-cylinder Honda Accord.

I bet that Benz's resale value will be about 50% in three years .
