  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Couldnt take that silver Grill any longer (my Genesis isnt Silver)

Enough of this political crap. I'm sick and tired of all the anti-Obama right wingers on this site talking politics in a car forum! I'm not his biggest fan, but this is hardly the place to discuss politics.

I found the solid chrome hood garnish and it my Genesis grill now looks just like the picture.

Here is my new front grill. Came out perfect

Where were you able to find the hood portion?

Hey guys I did the same thing on my 3.8 2011 sedan and it turned out great however initially I ordered one from Korean Auto Imports painted my black body color for $295 and the quality was terrible The paint had trash and orange peel in it plus the taped edges around the chrome were ragged I took the factory grill to a great paint shop and they did it right for $100 Also on another note I ordered a pair of European dual exhaust tips from Korean Auto that were supposed to fit perfectly in the bumper openings but were too wide and had to be wedged in so the paint will probably get burned I kept them because they look so good kind of like Porsche turbo extensions I will never order from these people again They are part of Sherwood Automotive in Arizona Buyer beware I'm now trying to get a lower exhaust note on the V6 I tried removing the single muffler behind the cats and sleeving the pipes while retaining the stock resonators It now sounds like a rotary engined Mazda I went to the good people at Gibson Muffler and they said to try their Superflow CFT muffler while retaining the stock resonators I'll let you know how it sounds Bud in SC

...This was my solution

J.W. Easy on your keyboard...Your quite right, but Ashdump likely is just a bit passionate about America and the direction it been going (These are some very tough times and few are unaffected). In my view, to ignore Ashdump remains a viable option. Sometimes a little understanding and tolerence from ALL corners is exactly whats needed...JMO,

Looks great!

This is my all-time favorite grille I've seen on the Genesis. It's a custom painted grille like Scott's, but this owner has apparently replaced the stock upper trim piece with the solid chrome slat from the other KDM grille.

I'm pretty sure he got the upper chrome trim piece that attaches to the hood of the car from this KDM grille (I'd love to know if it would be possible to order this piece separately because it looks great IMO):

Oh I love the look of this grille as well! Makes the car look very sophisticated.

It was just a matter of time before it got on my nerve so i had to take care of it on my own & since KOREAN AUTO IMPORTS wouldnt do a grill with my color code (TB) i took it off myself & took it to a professional painter and as u see the results i feel its much better then that silver that didnt match anything

The winged badge looks retarded, honestly. Not a BMW or MB badge with that seriousness look to it.

You can obviously be a fan or have your preference, but nobody can deny the fact that it's original anonymous Grille design from the Original 08 and 09 Models are the best looking. They just need a new exterior dimension of wheel base, height, width, and length as the genesis to re-sculpt the genesis body.

Especially with that new 5.0 8-Speed, that would be one mean modest car.

It makes the grille look so much smaller!

That is not meant to be a good or bad statement...simply more artistic.

Thanks for posting that pic. I wasn't considering the Lincoln MKS at all, but after seeing the pics, I think Lincoln did a real nice job - and I'll add it to my list, though the Genesis still leads it.

As for your opinions... I could go without them. It's more than obvious that any Genesis of any kind that isn't your "groundbreaking design" is garbage.

I've sat back and taken your ridiculous delusions of grandeur long enough, but I've reached my limit. You're not a designer. You're a bored little child with too much time on your hands, who thinks picking design features from other models and adapting them makes the ideas YOURS. Also, Hyundai is not going to make the Genesis the size of the Equus... 'cause they have a car named... EQUUS. Perhaps you should stick with "design", 'cause it's clear you have no business sense of any kind.

On a related note, "Hey guys! I have a great design idea! I think we should change the Genesis and make it look more like a Ferrari, but give it the versatility of a crossover. And we should build it completely out of diamond-encrusted carbon fiber so it's lightweight AND shiny."

Sigh.... what's that "block user" feature again?

Back on topic - I like the way the non-silver Genny looks with the painted grill. Very classy.

Great forum - I also signed up to explore the pics to see the grill modifications as I am considering a Genesis as a DD and am not the biggest fan of the grill (although the one pictured above is very nice and transforms the car in a very positive way).

I was curious if anyone has painted the WHOLE grill to color match their car and if so if they have any pics. Unfortunately, the only pic I have to describe what I'm talking about it non-Hyundai but it depicts what I was curious about.

Thanks!

motorsportsauthority reportedly has a painted grill in development. I don't know the current status - here's a post:

Has anyone seen this mod? If so, I am sorry for the repost.
