  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey all,

I have a weird question but, does anyone know how much power the 2009-2011 V6 transmission can handle?

Reason being is I might buy a V6 (for less money than the 8) and throw a single or twin turbo on her. This totally depends, however, on how much power the trans and rods can handle. If anyone has any insight, please feel free to post and help me out!

Thanks in Advance

then get the used V8 with the German built ZF transmission. The weak link in either will be the driveshaft and center joint.

ZF tranny is good up to 450 hp.

450 eh? Alright. That pretty much answered my question. Im thinking the V6 with a twin turbo would make 500+ so that's out. The single turbo, somewhere around 375-400HP (thats what I would want it at). So that's not going to happen either.

Thanks guys!
