  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey what size wheels can we put on the sedans and whats a good offset for the sedan, looking for black wheels possibly double concave :)

Was thinking about 20x8.5 offset 40 with 255/35/20 on all 4 corners. But not sure it will fit or if 8.5" wheels are wide enough for those tires.

Also big wheels are heavy and that can affect ride and handling so was thinking about forged wheels (generally lighter)

255/35/20 should fit on an 8.5 but probably fit better on a 9" wide wheel i know its not that much of a difference but I'm running a 245/35/20 on the front of my Genesis coupe and thats a 9" wide wheels and its pretty square set up no stretch what so ever. the rears I'm running a 285/30/20 on a 10.5" wheel i wonder if the offsets are similar between the sedan and coupe???

I'm from Florida but lived in Malaysia for a while. Hence jalanjalan 😃

22x9.5 +18 offset front and rear 245/30/22

You were able to put 22's on? Are you having any problems such as rubbing on fender when turning or hitting bumps? I'm wanting to put some concave rims on my ride (Vossens VVSCV1 Matte Black with Machined Face ) and trying to figure out how big-deep of a concave I can have based off offset and rim size.

Were you able to figure out the max rim size offset we can put on the sedan? I keep hearing from everybody 22's will cause issues but I see IronThug below in his pics are showing 22's. Wondering if he's having any problems. I'm looking to buy the Vossens VVSCV1 Matte Black with Machined Face deep concave rims. Spoke Carid site rep and although they recommend a specific size for Genesis, he did some research and found that I could have these sizes for front and back (the limit basically without any modifications):

Front:

VVSCV1 Matte Black with Machined Face and SS Lip Wheels by Vossen®. 20" x 9", +38 Offset, 5x114.3 Bolt Pattern, 73.1mm Hub.

Back:

VVSCV1 Matte Black with Machined Face and SS Lip Wheels by Vossen®. 20" x 10.5", +42 Offset, 5x114.3 Bolt Pattern, 73.1mm Hub

I want the concaveness to be as deep as possibly :-). But if I can go w/ 22's then I'm wondering what the size/offset I need

The higher the offset you can fit the better. Lower offsets are, in general, bad for cars that weren't designed for it. It will decrease steering response, increased required steering effort, increase tramlining, reduce tire contact patch, and cause accelerated wear on various suspension/steering components. The offset of the stock wheels is one of the critical components that the engineers base the suspension geometry on. Vary too much and you can cause drastic consequences. And a 10.5 is a bit excessive no?

I don't recommend going 22s. They are WAY too heavy and you want to keep the rolling circumference of the wheels the same as stock or as close to it as possible for gearing purposes and for speedometer/odometer readings. 22s don't really allow that.
