  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone have pictures of theirs?
Im looking for a match to the OEM existing wood. I want the large piece that goes across the face of the dash, and the pieces that go across the tops of the doors (where the handle and seat memory is)

Do a search on this forum. Someone posted some great pics of a kit that cost $104.

The one that goes across the dash on the passengers side in place of the leather insert is plastic "woodtrim" and not real wood. You can order from dealer since it comes on Base Model car, but I think it is over $1000 plus installation.

Thats funny that that would come standard on a base model. The one I saw it on was a base model though.

Yeah it is interesting it is only offered on the base model. But you have to remember, it is fake wood! One-hundred percent plastic. Probably very cheap to mass produce. Cheaper than a thin strip or two of leather.

I don't think it is that cheap to make, and it is not mass-produced since Genesis Base models are not exactly made in high numbers. The price difference between base and premium models is only a $2000 upgrade for all of the following:

- Lexicon® 14-speaker surround sound audio system w/ in-dash 6-disc CD changer
- Leather-wrapped dash and door trim inserts
- Power tilt-and-slide sunroof
- Power tilt and telescopic steering wheel
- Integrated memory system
- Rain-sensing wipers
- Auto-defogging windshield
- Power rear sunshade

I am not sure a piece of leather is much more expensive than the woodtrim plastic.

Someone on this site paid a lot of money to replace the leather dash with the woodtrim plastic.

Im willing to trade my leather for plastic wood.

Unless you get a Bentley all the "wood" in the cars are gonna be plastic. My late model E class Mercedes was plastic
