Yeah, looks like it should come in under $1000.Guys....I'm not sure if you can even see the difference, but the bottom picture is with the damage almost at 7k dollars in repairs.

not sure what I am looking at.
are you saying the bottom is AFTER $7K in repairs, or that the bottom NEEDS $7K in repairs.
The bottom needs 7k in repairs. It sure desn't look like it, but its true.
What are they going to think of next. They are soooo full of it. This is why I hate body shops. Unfortunately, I'm the largest Hyundai wholesale parts dealer in the state, and I have to deal with these idiots all day every day.As I understood from the two body shops I got estimates from, the rear bumper has the auto open trunk array and the cross traffic / BSM sensors built in and they are not sold/serviced separately so the rear cover is over $3,000 by itself. So unless the cover is repairable which both shops advised against as did my insurance claims adjuster, a new cover makes up almost half you cost.
The black lower cowl is also in the $1,500 range if both exhaust tip inserts have to be replaced, the tips are $350 each side!
If the back metal rebar (the actual steel bumper under the cover) brackets, etc got damaged then pile on another $2,000.
Those prices will be super helpful as I go through the estimate / second estimate dog and pony show.
The trunk won't close properly and doesn't line up with the right rear quarter panel. I'll keep everyone updated on the estimates / work.

I'd be surprised if it is under $5k, may hit $10k. The trunk won't close properly and doesn't line up with the right rear quarter panel. I'll keep everyone updated on the estimates / work.
Those prices are actually correct.Same here.....fixing just this will cost ~3k in parts/labor. Trunk lid alone cost ~1100 and lock over $500
Spare/replacement parts have always been a good money stream for auto and machine makers. In the case of a low volume car maker, where else are you going to go?Those prices are actually correct.
Trunk lid - 69200-B1520 - $1,129.45
Trunk latch - 81230-B1010 - $526.97
When they finalize realize it costs them more to replace someone else's property than the stupid cell phone. And their trivial idol conversations can wait.

If they are telling you and/or your insurance company that all the electronics are part of the bumper, they are ripping you guys off. With as much business I do with body shops, I might only sell 1 BSM a month. This is with Hyundai & Genesis combined. Surprisingly, they don't get damaged that often in a rear end collision. Yes, all 4 pieces combined is over $3,000, but I'm doubting you need them all. The smart key antenna is actually bolted to the impact bar, and not the bumper cover.
