  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anybody done anything with these? Would bright white bulbs look good instead of the yellow? I have the HIDs for when lights are on already but thought it would be nice for something during the day. Thoughts? Pictures? Thanks.

Define, "living with". What are the drawbacks?

Some do not believe LED can be used for hi beams, I personally probably used hi beams a hand full of times in the last 10 years.

For me, using a high powered CREE LED seems to do a very nice job of in most daily driving conditions. On a complete dark highway, although very bright, the LED beams start to diffuse around 75-100 feet which may not be sufficient for some people needs...

I use high beams for two situations. 1) Letting the guy in front of me know how much I appreciate him pulling out right in front of me, 2) a rural road on a dark night. Sounds like the LEDs would be good for one out of two of those...

With the HID system, I don't think it would matter much to me. I think I am going to look into getting the infrared system at some point too. That would be very effective on a dark road.

Indeed, they are bright especially in hi beam mode...

If the rural road is full of twists and turns, the LEDs will light the place like Xmas tree, but if it is strait and level road, then the HID/low beams (especially the right one) should be adjusted spot on to compensate for the loss of long distance illumination of the high beam, otherwise the LEDs setup may not be a good fit for your application.

Actually, on mine. I got the Sylvania ZXEs (Halogens). They look yellow during the day (due to lower output) but with high beams on, they are WHITE.
