  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

You took the "GENESIS" off also I see.

I left the H-Trac but took off the 3.8 and Genesis.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Looks good. Let us know how you connect the fog lights. That is my next step just trying to get the details sorting through the threads.

I will wire them to a spare accessory spot in the fusebox. This way they will come on when the car is on. No need for a switch. As for the H-trac emblem, I just like it. I hear you with the cleaner look and its all preference.

Ditch the license plate frame.

Ditch the license plate frame.

I was thinking the same thing - all that work to debadge and yet a busy license plate frame advertising the dealer remains....

The fist things I did was to remove a little dealer name badge that the dealer put on (hate when they do that without asking if it's OK), swap out the rear H for the wings (i kept all the other badging as I prefer that to the unbadged look) and ditched the dealer frame. However, I swapped it for a really thin chrome frame versus no frame - looks better than no frame, imho (used the same thin frame upfront - got them at Autozone).

Sorry to get off topic but where is everyone getting the fog light harness from and wiring to get it to the fuse box?

Thanks

Here's the thin chrome license plate frames on my 3.8 AWD:

Looks good. That's next, I didn't bother because that is a temp plate, my registration didn't come yet. I transferred my plates and bought out of state so it takes a couple weeks. It was a rainy miserable day today. I guess I will be taking a ride to Autozone tomorrow!!!

You have made a mistake that I have. Your rear emblem is positioned a bit lower than where it is supposed to be. If you look at pictures from Korea (Genesis in Korea comes with wing emblem from the factory), you would see that emblem is supposed to sit a bit higher.

Another indication that your emblem is sitting lower than where it should be...would be...If you look at the top of emblem (right in the middle), you would see "not so perfect" contact to the trunk (gap between emblem and the trunk). If emblem is placed in its right position, emblem will be "flush" with the trunk, leaving no gap anywhere.

It bothered me enough to get another one and put it in the right place.

I actually like it where it is... It is centered on the flat part of the lip. I don't like it higher touching where the top curve of the lip starts.

The top Trunk lip curves out and the bottom of the trunk lip curves in and my emblem is centered in the flat spot between the two. That's the way I wanted it even if it's wrong to the way they do it from the factory.

Same here. I like it there... There is no wrong way when it is your car :D

Right - I found that if you try to mount it too high, it doesn't lay flat against the trunk surface. I mounted mine as high as I could while still keeping flat - also making sure that the now empty peg holes were covered as well.

It doesn't look too far off from the KDM Genesis to me?

Montecito Blue is faster than Empire State Gray... Just saying :D

Only with 19" rims :D (and I believe the KDM Genesis tearing it up in the second picture is Parisian Gray)

But it is "different strokes for different folks" - I prefer the Empire State Gray. Especially when viewed in bright sunlight, it'a an amazing color with sparkle that the Montecito Blue doesn't have (though I like that color too)!
