  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Dead pedal lacking

Any chance I too can order/ buy one of these?

Thanks,

MD

Okay, good. I'm starting to see some real interest here in the dead pedal that I posted a photo of some weeks ago. Recently, I installed an improved Ver. 2 of this dead pedal in my car and it's just great. Improved durability. I'll put up a photo soon. Right now, we're in the middle of a master bathroom renovation here, so my time is limited.

After I post the new photo, if anybody is interested in this product I'd be happy to make up a few for some folks here. This is a custom, hand-made, product by an auto specialty shop. The design is mine. The Dead Pedal/foot rest is 1.5 inches thick and sits directly on the stock foot rest pad. Easy install with wide Velcro supplied. No screws. Cost would be abt $60. Hard cornering in the car is much more stable with your left foot planted securly on the dead pedal. If you are 6 feet tall, or under, this product is especially well-suited for you. Regarless of your height, if you think the stock left foot rest is too far forward, this will work wonders for your comfort.

By the way, this fits the Equus too.

I've been dealing with this issue by having half my foot on the dead-pedal...a lot less pain though not a real solution.

At $60 I'm in - let me know ASAP when your ready to sell. Thanks!

Here is Ver. 2 of my custom dead pedal (left foot rest). I'm thrilled with the improvement in driving comfort and the new material (rubberized vinyl) is highly durable. Please PM me if you'd like more info about it.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Any way that can be covered in matching carpet...?

Good question. My Ver. 1 dead pedal included carpet. Note, however, that the stock dead pedal area on the Genesis floor is rubberized vinyl, not carpet. Carpet just does not make for a durable foot rest area AND it's hard to keep clean. That's why I scrapped the carpet on Ver. 2 and chose to use full, rubberized, vinyl. Better wear and easy cleaning. The winter weather clearly showed that carpet is not the way to go! :D

^ Same. Don't care about ease of cleaning or tons of durability. I care about keeping and OEM look.

Now, if you did carpet on the side and rubberized vinyl on the face, that would be the best of both worlds. Just spitballin' here

I am currently working on Ver. 3 of the dead pedal. Ver. 3 will be jet black carpet with a durable rubber, or vinyl, cap. Hope to post a photo later this week. Stay tuned!

Will do - still very interested in purchasing

Sorry for the delay. I hope to have some good news about an improved dead pedal by the end of next week. Hopefully, I will also have a link where you can learn more about purchasing this custom item.
