  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My dealer rotated my tires and accidentally put the rears on the front.

I discovered the mixup after a friend asked me the tire sizes and we looked at the car. I called the dealer to bitch and they apologized and will make it right. I did notice the handling has been affected since the rear tires are 1.5" wider on the 275s over the 235s.

I am wondering if anyone has put the 275 rear size all the way around-since I have driven the car 1200 miles without incident. I am thinking I might want to replace the dog OEM tires with one size.

Front wheels are a different width. The switch could have damaged the inside edge of the tires and underside components of the car. Have it checked very closely. Talk with the general manager of the dealership with the service manager present. Ask how and why this happened and what corrective action has been and will be taken. Also ask for alignments to be free for as long as you own the car. Unless it hits them in the pocketbook nothing will change.

Homeofstone, thanks for your input! I called the dealer and told them I was going to have the tires rotated and alignment done locally. (1,000 miles from dealer) They graciously told me to make sure everything was OK and will reimburse me for that service. The front end was way off, but the good news was no damage to tires or suspension. The service tech told me he was pleased that there was no corrosion underneath like most of the northern cars he has worked on in WI.
