  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I was wondering if anyone else had the same experience as I have been having. I bought my genesis last year, I scheduled service initially through Genesis and was called about a month before the appointment to be told that the dealer's Genesis contract was being pulled and they could no longer service my car.

I re-booked a second service appointment w/ valet from the next closest dealer, which is 21.5 miles away. Had a no-call no-show for that appointment. booked a 3rd service appointment this time through their website, again, no call no show.

I eventually called Genesis themselves, they said that the dealers would not do a valet on anything more than 10 miles from themselves. I read through the agreement and could find no distance clauses in there, at least that I saw, and given that the service is part of the warranty I've found myself quite disappointed and frustrated with the situation.

Has anyone else experienced this same issue? And if so was Genesis able to get it fixed and how much of a headache was it in the process?

Valet service is at the discretion of the dealer, not something you're entitled to. Read the fine print. Many people don't get valet service.

Dealers make the determination themselves. Yes, it is in the fine print. My selling dealer would do 50 miles. With the pandemic and car shortage many dealers are not doing it. From what others have posted, best to make appointments by phone rather than web sites.

I think that may be part of the issue. It's difficult to find said fine print unfortunately. What I have found I could not find any mention of this, any help on the resource of the fine print and where I'd be able to find it?

Web site has this, note the words "varies by retailer":

Genesis Service Valet is available for original purchaser of the vehicle from Authorized Genesis Retailers during the scheduled maintenance period which includes scheduled maintenance and normal wear, parts replacement or warranty repairs to your vehicle for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. Coverage area varies by retailer. Charges and fees may apply. Contact your Authorized Genesis Retail Service Advocate for details.

I called today regarding a service issue covered under warranty. I was declined valet service and the first appointment available was the first week of March. Now that is the customer premium service I was promised and paid for. As someone told me when I was considering buying this "premium" car, "it's still a Hyundai"

Yes, sucks but I've heard stories like that with other brands. My daughter had a month wait for something on her Honda.
