  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Dealers with 2019s

Won't 38 miles work? Was thinking that was within their service distance.

Yes, they will be in good shape there. The standard valet distance is 50 or 60 miles, depending on the source but they will extend that in many instances according to customer service. As far as down the road goes, 38 miles is not really a long way to drive.

I'm going to find out in the next few weeks. I want to get some idea how it works in practice, rather than in theory.

Certainly should be. My dealer was 50 miles and no problems.
Most every town had a Chevy and Ford dealer but they just cannot support a Genesis dealer every 15 miles.

Thanks for the updates. It was nice to see that Genesis of Cool Springs is now official for the Nashville, TN area as of last month. I'm still enjoying my 2015 Genesis, but the next gen G80 and GV80 are calling me.

You're welcome. Both of them are going to be good looking vehicles.

Which is why I finally pulled the trigger on a car from Michigan. Pick it up Monday

Congratulations! You stuck in there for a long time waiting on CO but certainly can't blame you for going out to state. At least you will have a dealer to service it. Good luck, enjoy and be safe!

Thanks! I truly appreciate all the information you have provided along the way TB.

A few more dealers received their initial inventory this week, up to 309. Colorado and Hawaii still on the watchlist.
Interesting, I remember Erwin Raphael saying in an interview that he thought 100 was a good number of dealerships nationwide. This was before they had to change their dealership strategy.

It’ll be interesting to see how many of these dealers are profitable in the long run. Some of these locations don’t seem like they would be luxury car hotbeds. Maybe their Hyundai business is supporting their Genesis business.

I remember this. They were going to be selective on where to place Genesis dealerships. Much like the other luxury/upscale brands.

I think 100 may be light, but I think 300+ may be too much. Until they have a couple of SUV in the line I don't see any being profitable.

It certainly makes sense to break away and have stand alone dealers but they need the products people want to buy to make a buck. That will be coming soon. I hope soon enough.

I think he is still wants to be down to 100 or two in the future but due to lawsuits, regulations etc. they couldn't get to that number by just issuing franchises. I think what they are hoping to have happen is that over time the less profitable dealers will give up the franchise. With fewer dealers theoretically generating more revenue there can be standalone dealers. Only time will tell I guess.

Their location was exactly why Schomp Hyundai did not go with Genesis, they didn't feel their central Aurora location made sense for a dealership.

The only chance Genesis has to be successful is for 100-200 of them to build separate facilities that bring that high end feel. Colorado's only current dealer, Arapahoe Hyundai/Genesis of Arapahoe is barely acceptable as a Hyundai dealer let alone a Genesis dealer. I'm glad they have to pick up my car for service as I cringe at the thought of driving into their service facility.

With the Colorado dealer receiving inventory as well as a few more, we are up to 319. Hawaii is once again the lone state on the watchlist.
Well we are the 50th state...so that makes sense;)
