Dec 2022 GV80 Software Update 👍

Can anyone confirm that the newest update fixed the issue that was broken by the Oct 2022 update, as described below? In the manual (attached) it is referred to as "changing set speed".

Prior to Oct update, when using smart cruise control, anytime the speed limit changed, you would get blinking white up/down arrows in the cluster (where the cruise control info is located), which would be a notification that the cruise control was set to a speed that no longer matched the posted speed limit. You could then press the speed adjust switch on the steering wheel in the direction the arrows were pointing, and the cruise control would automatically be reset to posted speed limit. This feature quit working with the Oct update. I have attached a page from the manual that describes this feature. In the attachment, it is the part called "Changing set speed", not the "warning overspeed" which has already been reported as fixed.

I have finally installed the newest update released in December 2022 (11/25/2022 release) in my 2023 GV80, and can report that the issue in the quote above is fixed. Works perfectly again!!

Maps are back on, but none of my buttons work? Is it still updating even though I don't see the progress screen anymore? Or is there something wrong? How do you know when the update is complete??

It should reboot when completing and notify you that it is completed.

From my one time experience with the update, if I recall correctly it will go through the update process (there were 2 updates so two times I had to wait for the 100%). After that it would restart (only the infotainment screen), once it restarted it would then pop up with a 'What's New' screen with features that was updated. That's when I presumed the update is complete.

Thanks. I don't think the update took. It was 1 ½ hrs, so I pulled out the thumb drive. Still doesn't show the software has been updated. Guess I will try again, after that no sure what to do. I don't want to waste the gas running my car again for over an hour.

Looks like the 2nd attempt worked. I moved my car on the first install, so not sure if that had something to do with the failure to update? Thanks to all for the help!!

Yes, it is worth if if you have the old maps. But you need to set up your "my Genesis" account first. Then it will tell you what is available. You should get the remaining time of the three year free upgrades left on the car when it was new.

The 2022 and 2023 got a new version to fix the issues they caused with the last update.

I just purchased a 2023 GV80 on December 21, 2022. How can I tell what update is in the navigational system? Where do I find that version and how can I tell if it needs an update

Go to settings on the infomat system and go to software info. The version numbers have the date in them. You should have a Dec. version. If not you need to update it. You will need to download the update from the mapsoft site. You do it via usb.

I have been following this thread and in checking my 2021 GV80 Prestige I have 22/05/04 installed. I noticed above that the 2021 should have 22/10/17.....has anyone updated their GV80 2021 to the newer date ? What were the changes you saw. Thanks in advance for any info.

Many have updated their 2021 GV80 and have had no issues. As for changes, not really sure there are any to really rave about.

I don't think the voice recognition ever worked for me, even before the update. Reminds me from the old Top Gear UK, which I didn't bother with it.

I updated and noticed no difference. The maps are probably updated with new streets and POA's. If you go to the web site, them mention something about sounds too.

Thought I would post a new thread for the latest update for our 2022 and 2023 GV80's. I downloaded and installed the latest update (posted today, 19 Dec 2022) for my 2023 GV80. So far everything seems to be corrected from the fiasco of the October 2022 update.

1. HUD now displays speed limit sign.
2. Speed limit signs on the HUD and dash now change red when you exceed the preset limit.
3. SXM channel changes now show up on the HUD.

This is all I have had a chance to verify. Did not check if a caller in your contacts will now show on the HUD. Not certain of any other issues we had. So bottom line, it is safe to load the update on the 2023 GV80 and I will assume the 2022 GV80 since it is the same load as the one for the 2023. Enjoy.

I don't see an available 12/2022 update. The lastest one I see is the October 2022 update which I have already installed...

What year model GV80 do you have? The update is fir the 2022 and 2023 year model.
