  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Dec 2022 GV80 Software Update 👍

I don't see an available 12/2022 update. The lastest one I see is the October 2022 update which I have already installed...

They updated the 21, 22, and 23 in October. There were issues with the 22 and 23 cars. So, in December they redid the 22 and 23. The 21 was fine so there was not a December update. The December update had no more new stuff that the October one, other than fixing the bugs it caused in the newer cars.

WE have a 22 gv80 my wifes did a update while she was driving ota this is the number that came up on her screen when it was done. JX1 22. USA.P6.001.004.220523 IT was on dec 22 it was a nav update

Hello,

I recently purchased a 64G thumb drive and did the download the update. I got cold feet and parked the drive without doing the install. I spoke to customer service several times and the local service people - too many different opinions and results. I see that the map update company has now listed the long awaited thumb drive for owners (no charge). I ordered one today and may try to do the update using it. I'm not traveling much anymore and have scant use for the NAV function. I'm afraid to screw up something else when everything else seems to be working fine. Regards.

One other observation since the update. Seems that the profile comes up much faster now.

Text messaging is working good now too.
I get text messages coming across, but it won't let me listen to them while driving? What's the benefit of getting the texts if you can't listen to them?

My 2021 G80 has a software update today and when it finished, I lost the ability to tune SXM channels on my Tune Button. The tune button now zooms in and out on the Map. I can't find a way around it. Anyone else had this problem?
I have the same issue and can't figure out a workaround either.

I have done the updates and I do like some of the changes, but feel some things were downgraded. I am especially disappointed about the auto-centering of the maps. You used to be able to set your map scaling preferences depending on your speed for example 700 ft when going 25-45 mph. This is no longer an option and if you select auto-centering, it never goes below 300 ft. This then affects the 3D visuals on showing buildings, etc. Hopefully, they change this in the next update.

They also changed the navigation voice, wish you could change it but can't. Using Android auto in the meantime.

I just updated MY2021 GV80 Prestige and so far I see I lost my sounds of nature.

Thought I would post a new thread for the latest update for our 2022 and 2023 GV80's. I downloaded and installed the latest update (posted today, 19 Dec 2022) for my 2023 GV80. So far everything seems to be corrected from the fiasco of the October 2022 update.

1. HUD now displays speed limit sign.
2. Speed limit signs on the HUD and dash now change red when you exceed the preset limit.
3. SXM channel changes now show up on the HUD.

This is all I have had a chance to verify. Did not check if a caller in your contacts will now show on the HUD. Not certain of any other issues we had. So bottom line, it is safe to load the update on the 2023 GV80 and I will assume the 2022 GV80 since it is the same load as the one for the 2023. Enjoy.
Brand new to Genesis and this forum - Thanks for all the great info guys!

Does this new 2023 GV80 map update version (XX911.0) include the new software version (XX.221125) all within the same single download or do I need to get the new SV download from somewhere else?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Root file system is a gzipped tar archive on your exFAT formatted flash drive. I forget the folder name right now but it's same one that contains the map files in various languages. That's the reason there's a second 0-100% update before the system reboots itself. Kind of annoyed me at first -- just when you think you're done at 100% it starts all over again -- but it's understandable now. Updater should be more verbose about what it's doing if you ask me though. Looked like it got hung up a few times and restarted. Maybe people wouldn't get impatient and pull the drive out in the middle of the process if you told them what was happening. Just sayin'...

Could someone share with me what screen I need to access to see what Navi software version I have?

Thank you very much.

Setup; General; Software Update

I rarely use the nav guidance but yesterday was told I could not use it until I updated. Mine is a 2022 never updated before. Downloaded the software (Win 10 PC) then the update. I formatted a 32G usb and went through the directions to load - the software actually reformats the drive to exFAT and loads the drive.

Had to go to a number of places today, so while driving I started the update as outlined previously on here. Did take quite a while to get off 0% but then slowly started to progress. Got to the store and put the car in accessory mode (you can't lock these when doing this which I hate) and proceeded to go shopping. Came back out and it was still updating, so proceeded to the car wash, another store, etc. It eventually got to 99% seemed to restart showing 10% for a few minutes then switched back to 100%, screen went black, finally restarted, and my music came back on and the screen showed a new features screen to scroll through.

A couple of takeaways:

1. The software reformats the USB drive
2. You can update while driving. You will not have any screen functionality, radio, cameras.
3. The car does not necessarily need to be running - just don't stop the update by switching to accessory mode before you open your door! It may keep updating without putting in accesory but I wasn't going to chance it and lose progress.

Now:
Software version JX1.USA.P6.001.005.221125
Firmware version JX1.USA.1.220915.MICOM
Navigation App Version PRM6.NAM.GNS.221125.1238N67
Map Version NAM.15.47.48.024.912.0
Cluster Version 2.00.04.05
Head-Up Display Version 1.00.5U.BU

Just wishing now I had taken the pictures of the old numbers!

Nice job on the summary. As far as the 100% then the 10% goes, it could be two things. When I did my update, the first process was to download the data from the stick and the second was to install it. Also for my car, there were two updates. I forget what the other update was for.
Glad you got it going.

Where do you get the newer update. When I go to the update program it still lists Oct 2022?

The updater does say October 2022, but it is the Dec 2022 update. It is actually a fixed October 2022 file. When you load it, it shouild show a Dec 2022 date on the infomat screen.
