  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Deciding between GV70 and X3

If it's base models I'd go GV70. If it's between the 3.5 and the M40i - I'd go X3.

The base X3 will give you much better fuel economy though. I don't think you'll go wrong with either vehicle. But the GV70 Advance does have more creature comforts and a better ride quality.
Whats the driving difference?

The GV70 comes standard with AWD . I think you pay extra for this in an X3 . I have not driven an X3 so I can not comment on how it handles compared to the GV70.

Having owned 5 BMW‘s in the past, I felt like the GV70 handles and steers like my past BWM‘s

I think even the base line GV70 includes adaptive cruise and blind spot monitors . Pretty sure these are extra in X3 .

Being 28 you may not care about setting cruise and letting the car slow down and speed up with traffic but I find it makes for a more relaxed travel experience.

Blind spot monitors are a real safety feature I would not want to be without .
I want a fun but at the same time nice interior and comfort

You can get the AAwireless device and that will make it wireless. I use it and it works flawlessly. So wireless AA is not an issue
Yeah but it's done over bluetooth so audio quality is trash and there are latency issues. Real wireless carplay/AA is done over wifi. If you are just using it for Waze and stuff then it's not an issue.

You really need to drive them both before you can come to a conclusion as two different people can have two entirely different experiences when driving a vehicle. Only you will know what vehicle drives best to you when it comes to closely matched vehicles in the same segment. One thing that any prospective buyer should know is that Genesis reliability has been poor relative to Hyundai and Kia models so be prepared for some software glitches, failed differentials (in higher trims) as well as various other issues. In Canada we get a 5 year comprehensive warranty so there's some piece of mind that even if you have issues there won't be associated out of pocket costs for repairs.

Problem is I test drove the X3 2019 preowned and i was wondering if it was same as 2022 x3? because although the interior is nicer I didnt enjoy driving experience

They updated the interior and exterior for 2022's. I can't speak for the driving experience and if that has been changed.

Its done over wifi. Not Bluetooth. You connect to the device using phones wifi. Sound quality has no deterioration. I am using it since day 1 and its been great

Also there is no latency issues. It's super fast. I have other cars with wireless AA and you cant tell the difference

These 2 vehicles were my finalists. Price was about the same for more or less the same features. I gave pluses to BMW for dealership and likely resale value. I gave pluses to Genesis on warranty (plus my dealer gave lifetime on powertrain, no miles limit as long as I owned it). I liked the seats and interior a little better on the GV70 but honestly it was close call. The wireless carplay is a plus on BMW, but it did not have wireless charging so feel like I would need to plug it in on anything other than local drives anyway (and I don't use it for local drives). Close call for sure, I can appreciate going either direction, but 3 months into ownership I am thrilled with GV70 (plus I have the Cardiff Green, which is personal taste but I really like, BMW was all pretty boring colors).

^ GV70 will beat the X3 in resale...

Don't forget warranty, maintenance and ongoing repair costs after warranty too! Every BMW I owned was a money pit after the warranty expired.

Any difference in driving feel?

It also depends on what kind of roads you are driving. The Genesis is more tuned towards comfort and luxury, while the BMW will be more sporty. If the roads you take it to are nice, it's really a matter of personal preference. But if you live in a pothole-infested area, too stiff may become punishing and tiring in the long run. The Genesis is no slug at attacking corners, but the BMW is more athletic at doing so, however is this what you intend to use an SUV for?

Then there's the interior, I find German's brands obsession towards the glass cockpit taking them away from what luxury should be about - High quality materials, not just glass and screens. The expanse of leather on the GV70's dash just looks more luxurious to me.

There is no right or wrong answer here, to each his own, they are both fantastic machines that will bring a smile to your face!

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
But the gv70 felt more responsive so now I'm confused myself what I should go for .
Imagine how responsive the GV70 would be with some better tires then the OEM Primacy’s!

What would you recommend as a good replacement?
I’d recommend a UHP tire from Michelin, Hankook or Continental. Because I live up North, I went with a UHP all season, specifically the ExtremeContact DWS06+:

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm located in Florida. Much different winters for us down here.

That‘s true, but when it rains in Florida it really rains, and these are great rain tires.

Totally with you on the ExtremeContact. That will be my choice when I get 22" aftermarkets. I am in Canada and these will be my summer tires simply because of the fantastic dry and wet traction, and supposedly, fairly low noise. I will keep the OEM 19" wheels as my winter set (re-wrapped with Conti's Viking Contact 7, another amazing winter tire). OEM Primacy's will go on Kijiji or FB mktplace.
