I have just traded in my second X3 for the GV70 2.5.. ( 2004 and 2014 X3's).. I also own a 740isport.Hello
I'm 28 single no family want to get a nice sporty suv cruiser coming from a Honda civic for 10 years.
Should I go for X3 or GV70 both base models ? Maybe advanced package 2.5 on the GV70
I test drove both and X3 felt more mature interior
I didn't like Gv70 steering wheel
I like the German heavy handling
But I also enjoy straight line power
Any opinions or thoughts ?
I am impressed with the style, price point and tech of this car.. My wife who drove the x3 fell in love with this car when she first saw the GV80.
After 3 weeks of owning a 2.5T GV70 here are my impressions.
1. Very well-produced auto ..I saw no major or minor defects with the production build.
2. Extremely luxurious compared to my well-optioned X3 ( 2.8)
3. Incredible tech..however, so much tech that getting familiar with it all is daunting.
4. Styling is A+.. I love it compared to the X3.. yeah it's 8 years newer but wow the lines and the LED lighting are spectacular.
5. Interior is so much better than the x3..again my X3 was $54K in 2014 highly optioned.. The GV70 was $51K
6. I love how quiet the interior is on this auto..and the door closures are solid, sound and have a quality closure...better than my x3.
Downsides.. best gas mileage has been 26mpg, Too much tech in some respect or I am just not used to having all this assist capability. I have questions about the lane assist as sometimes I do get a hard pull in a direction if the lane markings get mis-interpreted by the sonar/optical system.
I think this car is well worth the money, I value the warranty, I appreciate the styling and the looks it receives from other drivers and I appreciate the tech and connected service capabilities..
