  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

First, hope there were no injuries to occupants. This tis the time of the year and even when we are extremely vigilant, those rascals will wander and freeze in middle of road on a dark night.

Just got our E500 back from shop about 10 days ago. Hit a deer at rightr front light, 4200.00 in damage, but looks perfect now. Shop only used Mercedes new parts. I get so pissed at all the deer in our area. Hope your repair goes well.

well ... it's been almost a month and I still am driving my rental MrBean car cause apparently Hyundai keeps shipping damaged door panels - beats me, the shop called this morning to say that the 3rd door is on it's way - let's hope this BS is over soon as I don't really know my options. The body shop has been recommended by several friends, and assuming they're honest all I can say is that I'm glad they didn't try to come up with "let's make it work" solution

anybody else experienced such issues?

I. stupidly. backed into my buddy's Mazda on backing out of my own driveway.

The rear bumber had to be R&R'ed. No problem there, parts were ordered and new bumper was on in less than a week. However, the wrap around trim peice with the chrome strip took over a month to get. When it finally arrived, the body shop had to remove the new bumper to attach this peice.

Looks great now.

Just hit one two weeks ago myself. My first. Big buck... I only clipped it, but it caused almost $5k worth of damage on a car worth about that much. Waiting for the insurance guy to tell me it's best to claim a total loss so I can finally pick up my r spec!

I feel your pain. Though it's probably not as acute as the deer's.

I am sure I'm going to pay dearly (pun intended) for saying this but I have had zero real damage from the last two deer I've hit. One jumped out in front of my prized BMW M roadster toy car and I SLAMMED on the brakes and got away with a few sprigs of fur in the grill. Then a month ago while driving to the airport at 4am, the week before moving up from my Sonata, a deer came out of nowhere. Zig, zag and a little braking the bastard jumped over my car and caught his foot on the rear passenger side window leaving a dirty smudge.

I've had 3 or 4 close calls... but there was no avoiding this one. His antlers were over my windshield! If I had broadsided him, there's no telling what he'd have done to that car...

Yea, my Dodge Ram 2500 has killed six deer and the trailers I pull have gotten two more. Luckily the truck or trailers have never sustained any damage. A couple though I did need to get out the hose.
