  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Detailer messed up!

I've been reading all of this stuff about washing cars and clearcoat scratching etc and I have to say that it's made me notice tiny scratches on mine. Also, it looks like a dirty towel was brought inside or something(?) because I notice little tiny fine scratches on some of the inside plastic surfaces too. I'm more and more reluctant to even wash my car! I need to find a good place to do regular washes. If anyone is in SoCal and can point me to one, ....

Not sure what your budget is but David & Joe offer monthly service packages that will keep your car looking like new.

Here are the pictures for anyone who was curious :( it's over the whole car, not the hood and trunk like I thought... It's so embarrassing to even drive it now!

Here are the pictures:

My car looked EXACTLY the same, there is hope...Autogeeks Porter Cable Swirl Remover package did the trick for me. I had no prior experience detailing and after watching a few videos, I had enough courage to give it a try. Just follow everything by the book and you can't go wrong, the DA polisher can't mess up your paint unless you purposely try to. Wash, dry, clay and start running your kit, it took me about 7 hours. I'm posting from my Droid and don't see how to attach my pics, so I'll do it another time, like I said, they look like duplicates of yours......Good luck

The detailing company has about 15 different stores throughout united states so I figured they would be very good.
I would think the opposite. Chain stores typically hire a lot of low-paid workers who have no stake in the company.

Any updates from the OP?

Rasky, I didn't realize you roamed this forum...I've seen your work on Detailed Image and it is superb.

OP started another thread and mentioned that he thinking of having his car repainted candy blue.

That blue color of the beemer is one of my all-time favorites... but man, it must really be bothering him to go and re-paint the entire car!

Thanks! I hadn't actually until Scott emailed me a link with the OP's questions. Rather than Scott play middle man I just signed up. ;)

Hi Guys,

I am currently in the process of finding a good detailer in my area - thanks to autogeekonline.com and will update this topic with pictures after it's fixed. (More then likely sometime in the next two weeks)

As for the blue, I'm still pending as to if I want to do that or not as in the next few months I might be considering a 3 series with the M Sport in that color if I like the test drive of it.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Keep us updated. I'm sure a professional detailer from either detailed image or autogeekonline will set that paint straight.

Just an update, tomorrow morning I'm heading to Orlando to get my car detailed by a referral from autogeekonline who was recommended by several forum members.

I'll keep you posted sometime tomorrow when it's all complete.

I am so excited for this nightmare to finally be over with. 5 months of horror.

I wish you the best outcome of an unfortunate situation. Trust me, I realize how frustrating this can be; I usually end up "finishing" a car once it comes back from detail.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I am in total shock, my car is now finished and EVERY swirl is out. I did not think this was possible due to the amount of damage there was to the paint from the rotary buffer from other detailers.

I will link to his thread when he creates it on autogeekonline with pictures of the before and after. I do have one picture here that he sent me via text when working on it. Look at the difference!

Note: My whole car looked like the left side of my hood, so he had a handful but managed to get my entire car back to brand new again.
There is a detailing GOD that answered my prayers to my horrible nightmare!

Congrats - I know how you feel:);)

I love to see comparison photos like that...now THAT is a detail. Glad you got it taken care of!

just realized my car has the exact same kind of swirls all over my car too. I just bought it last week from the dealership, there were some light scratches on the clear coat so they got the detailer to polish the whole car. I didn't realize how bad the swirls were until i went thru a touchless car wash couple days ago. With the sun shining, i can see horrible swirls all over the car.. heading to the dealership this friday, hopefully they get it all fixed

Wow, what an experience. I would request for a refund from each detailer that did not deliver those results.
