    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Detailer messed up!

That really sucks... and it's a good lesson to all: Don't let your dealer touch your paint. Pay an extra few hundred $'s and have it done by someone you trust who KNOWS what they're doing - and do it right from the start.

Easier said than done, of course.

I am glad the original poster was able to get his car looking great again. It would bug the hell out me.

Don't let the dealer touch your car. Especially if it is black or dark, they will put tons of visible swirl marks even when washing it by hand, since they use the same soapy water for many cars in a row.

I just went for an oil change recently, specifically requested not to have my car washed, put a posted note on the NAV screen "DO NOT WASH", and guess what they did? Those bastards washed it thinking they were doing a good thing. Sure enough, now I see circular light scratches from the dirty wash cloth they used at the dealership. I doubt that they would give me a few hundred dollars for a detailing job due to their 'hand wash'.

I wish there was a cure for my obsession of not having swirl marks on the car. I love my black Genesis, looks awesome, but I look at the paint from way to close. I'm thinking that my next car will be white or silver, but I'm sure I'll be tempted by black again.
