  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Did you shop the Infiniti M37/M56/Q70 against the Genesis?

Very curious if anyone shopped the Infiniti M37/M56/Q70 against the Genesis before they purchased....and how you thought it compared?

No but I did shop the smaller Q50 (similar price range).

I am actually looking at the reverse. I came from an Infiniti M37S and Audi A6 and looking at the Genesis. I loved my M37S, and would consider another one (Q70S) in a second if not for a few minor things. First the head unit is very dated, all the tech in the car is Infiniti's previous old gen tech. And the blue tooth in Infinit's just sucks. My M37S and both my friend's G37's get complaints all the time when they talk hands free that people can not understand you.
The car road great, handled well and was very comfortable. The Bose systems was weak, but tolerable. I leased my M37S for 39 months and put 45K trouble free miles on it. The S model is the way to go, not overly sporty, but sporty enough to make it a great car.

I have not driven the new Genesis yet, but have sat in one twice and am impressed. Just need to find time to drive one and see if they can persuade me.

Coming from an Infiniti I completely agree. The Q70 feels (and hopefully is) near the end of its model cycle. A larger, more upscale version of the Q50 would be very nice, but I think price will be significantly higher than the Genesis.

Previously owned a 2008 G35sX sedan. Was an excellent car and at the time, had fairly current tech and a contemporary look. The car handled well and had excellent fit and finish. What was most impressive however was the dealer experience. Having owned BMW's before and after that car, the Infiniti experience was better in almost all ways. As many have stated here, the car has not evolved enough since and with a remake, they may do very well. Their dealer service in my experience however is one to be carried over as is.

Very helpful. How do you like your A6? I am shopping a new A6 Prestige against it as well (at obviously more $$) and a (believe it or not) used S6 - just for kicks.

If I had unlimited funds I would just buy a new S7 and be done with it but that's not likely to happen anytime soon :)

The one test drive I have in the Genesis thus far was really impressive. If the V6 AWD car included the damn foglights I think I would own one already.

Another thought I had was to pick up a used A6/S6 while I wait for revision 2 of the Genesis and then sell that and buy a new Genesis. Then I could try them both :)

I also drove virtually every sedan of any age that might be possible for me.

It came down in the end to the Audi A6 and the Mercedes E-350, and I was going to decide between the two of them when I got ExtremeTech's article about the Genesis which I drove and was pretty damn sold.

It's possible that the Audi and Mercedes are fractionally fancier, but honestly not by all that much, and certainly not $30,000 more! The tech is identical in all the respects that mattered to me and it was - at least at the time I bought it three months ago - the most advanced technology for cars on the market until you got well into a six-figure range.

Be very, very careful about looking at used cars because these days cars are fast becoming rolling computers, and the technology of the previous year may be WELL behind what cars that have put out a recent upgrade can make available

I love my A6, with a few minor exceptions. The seats are not as comfortable as I would like and the Bose system while better than the Infiniti is still just tolerabe. The A6 power train is freakin amazing, nothing like forced induction and AWD to put high torque to the ground at low RPM. Super smooth power train. Car has been flawless and the Audi tech is awesome, adaptive cruise, Google search, the blind spot, etc. I have 13K miles in 14 months, but have the itch and the Genesis looks appealing, want to check out an AWD, but think they blew it leaving off LED DRLs, fogs and headlights.
