  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Did your insurance company have 2019 G70 in their system?

Update...Geico still does NOT have the G70 in their system.

Maybe as people succeed in getting their cars insured, we could have a roster of companies whose systems have the G70 listed. Not sure what would be the best way to set that up. Maybe we could just search by the insurance providers' names. But it would be nice to be able to access information about one's own insurance provider to see where things stand. Any ideas?

Called Geico again. They still don't have the G70. I called a few weeks ago and I was quoted $400 more per year over my 2013 Audi A4. Freaked me out a bit.

I just called this morning...and apparently she did a better job this time. Last time they were trying to compare to the G80 Sport...which I told them is not correct.

Anyway...now I am at $260 more per year...which I am fine with. Phew.

So a couple questions:

Did your insurance company have the 2019 G70 in their system?
Which insurance company?
If they didn't have the car info, what does your insurance slip say and are you on temporary insurance?

For my story, I am with TD Meloche Monnex and they told me the VIN was invalid and had no info for a 2019 G70. They issued me a temporary (2 week) insurance coverage and the slip says "2018 Genesis G80 Sport 3.3T 4DR" with my actual VIN.

I had a minor issue getting my plate transferred at the registry since they said it looks like I don't have proper insurance on the car. They warned me that I may have issues if a cop pulls me over.

Now a few days before my temporary insurance expires, I called TD back and they have said the VIN is still invalid and will have to issue another temporary insurance card.

Also in the meantime I am dealing with only an "estimate" of my actual insurance cost which may or may not change.

Considering the cars have been out for almost a month now, I am surprised this is still an issue and wondering if it is just me or if others are having the same difficulty.

I am located in Alabama and the G70 just came out here and no one has it in the system. AVIVA can not cover here. Any suggestions?

My Allstate agent had them in their system.

Just confirmed that Geico STILL DOES NOT have the G70.

So I am getting my G70 delivered tomorrow (Fri). Had to call Geico officially to add it.

It is still not an option on their customer facing website...but the DO list it on their internal system. So that is progress.

So my official yearly cost over my 2013 Audi A4 Premium Plus will be $234 per year.

My leased G70 will be delivered this Thursday and TD Insurance (Primmum Insurance) had my 3.3T Sport in their systems.

In fact, my insurance was slightly lower than my Focus RS, which is a nice surprise.

My 3.3T prestige quote is slightly lower than my 2012 S4, even though the value is 4X greater. I guess the safety tech in new cars more than makes up for the increased value risk. Or maybe people who buy new cars drive more carefully.

Lol don't say that. They'll come in and argue you down that safety tech has nothing to do with it.

My insurance quote is $5.50 higher for the last 47 days of this period moving from an 18' Kia Optima to a 3.3T Sport AWD. Progressive asked if the car has Anti-Theft and/or Autonomous emergency braking.

That's really not too bad. I'm with Progressive so when the time comes, maybe my insurance won't be too bad. That's the exact model I plan to get.

I'm close to pulling the trigger so I went insurance shopping for a 3.3T advanced, it's actually $15 cheaper per month to insure than my 2015 Genesis 3.8 on progressive. However they wouldn't recognize my VIN so I had to manually enter the descriptions, they had a 6 cyl G70 as a potential match so I selected that. I'll be getting some money back if I go ahead with the purchase this month.

Wonderful news. I have a 2016 Genesis 3.8 with Progressive too. Planning for a G70 Prestige.

I had no trouble adding my Genesis to my insurance. I have commerce insurance via AAA.

Just quote mine thru Progressive website and got $6 less a month for replacing my 2016 Genesis with a G70 3.3T. No VIN number.
