That quote is on target to what my present insurance company who has my existing car and home quoted me on a 3.3 sport. But, when I asked my agent how I could get a new quote from another carrier so much cheaper he said prospective insurance companies when looking at a new policy and at someone who had been with their present company more than 5 years will low-ball quotes to get your business, then start a steady increase each renewal cycle until they get you to profitable numbers. Leaving an existing company also means if I was to come back in a few years as a new customer, my rating class and seniority starts all over. He said most companies provide discounted rate structures with longevity. They don’t tell you what that is though. He said how companies come up with their rates and discounts allowed is somewhat a secrete algorithm model that agents have no details on.So my insurance company listed my 3.3t Sport as a "3.3t Design 4d" and has quoted me at $791 every 6 months. Could someone let me know if this sounds reasonable? I'm also curious if the "design" title is driving up the cost since those are actually limited run cars.
