  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

difference between 5.0 genesis and r spec genesis

Also to note is that all the 2012 models received larger brakes vs 2009-2011 models.
Correct.

The rear brakes are the same throughout all of the models and years. The front brakes have been upgraded:

  • The '12 3.8 got the 13.0" 4-piston brakes from the '09-'11 4.6; it had a single-piston 12.6" previously
  • The '12 4.6/5.0/R-Spec got new 13.6" brakes - all models are 4-piston in the front now
There are tons of fun facts, including specs for all models on the official Hyundai News site: http://hyundainews.com/us/en-us/Home/Welcome.aspx

Just search by vehicle ;)

If the gear ratios are different (not just final ratio) then the shift points must be different since the R-Spec gets 1 MPG less than the 5.0.
I'm thinking maybe an intake or fuel injector difference?
If I barley touch the throttle, the car will shift in very low revs, 6th gear at 35 mph but normally, it shifts around 3k. That may be the difference.
I see a 2012 5.0 for sale nearby, I'm tempted to go test drive it. Same color as mine except tan inside
