  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Now that Apple released iOS18.1 they opened up the ability for third party applications to access the nfc chip I was wondering if we will now get the key in the phone like android has had for years

MY GV60 has a phone key. Usually the only thing I carry to take a drive is my phone. The downside is I was by the car for anything and it wants to unlock since my phone is always in my pocket.

I have also been using the digital key as my key. The other day I parked at a mall garage and was walking away from my car when I saw a driver waving frantically at me. At first I didn't realize why until I looked behind me and realized that my hatch had opened. The garage was noisy enough, and I am hearing impaired enough, that I didn't hear the hatch opening sound.

While it was handy to have the hatch opening when I stepped behind the car, I have reluctantly turned that feature off. It means I occasionally have to put something down to open the hatch where before I could just stand there. Not the end of the world.

The other downside that has occurred to me is that one feature of the vehicle that I like and would use under the right circumstances is the self parking feature. Not to park the car but to back the car out if some ahole has parked so close to me that I can't get back into my car on the driver's side. But to use that feature I need the fob. On the other hand, in a year and a half, I have not had to use that feature (partly because I always try to park far away from others).
