  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I noticed while detailing my car this weekend that there is a small, but noticeable amount of dirt caught in the very edge of my tail light near the trunk. It won't come out by pressure washing or using a can of compressed air and appears to be stuck between the layers of plastic in the tail light itself. It's primarily limited to the drivers side tail light which leads me to believe it may be a defect in workmanship.

It doesn't bother me too bad, but now that I know it's there I can't help but notice it. :D Anyone else have this "problem"?

I have never looked that closely. Perhaps Mr. Detail- TJPARKS01- can give his advice, observations. lol : )

Wow, makes me realize how much attention you pay to detailing the Genny. :)
I haven't looked at mine that close. I'm still bothered by the tiny rock chips that are accumulating on my front bumper. :(

I have that one covered (I hope). Picking up from shop tomorrow morning with full front VentureShield wrap. Supposedly will take a direct hit with gravel at 60mph and bounce right off, leaving no mark. We'll see...

Mine has the slightest bit of dirt on the driver's side taillight as well in the same spot as pictured above.

Okay, I'm goofy. ;) I took my car to the coin-op car wash this weekend and found that a thorough pressure wash removed all the dirt from this area.

IKR! Almost as bad as the reflective hood design. ;) :D

That's a good choice. I always plan on getting one whenever I buy a new car, but that's where it ends. Planning.
I neglected to get one for the Genny and now I have handful of chips here and there. :(

My friend had the same VentureShield on his Lotus, which was a factory option, and it saved his headlight from cracking when he hit a rock at 70mph.
Film was damaged for sure, but the lens under it was perfectly fine.
