  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Disabling Daytime Running Lights (DRL)

Do you people realize that it is against the law to drive with your parking lights on in some states? It is illigal in North carolina for sure. Most people that run their parking lights on in the daytime are just wanting to look cool, attract attention etc.

Yes, but in our case we're not talking only the amber lights in the bumper. Actual beams illuminate as well as the tail lights and ambers. That would make them "DRL's" instead of parking lights. So I doubt the Genny is ticketable until we get the real thing.

Why do some people run lights in the daytime? it is false security to do so, most of the people on our highways can not drive good enough to be on our roads so they do not pay attention to the cars or the lights that they are displaying. I wish that our law enforcement would crack down on all who do not use their turn signals and follow to close etc. We need to get back to driving sensibly and being more watchful of things around us.

I don't know about "some people", but I "run" the parking lights in the daytime because the Genny does NOT come with DRL's. If the only illumination came from the ambers, I probably wouldn't bother. But I want to be seen better so I use what's available. Why is that such a difficult concept?

Theres a reason why there are highway signs that say "Lights on for Safety". I would certainly assume they mean to turn them on during day time hours. It should be evident to most people to turn them on at night. Maybe not around here in the Pacific Northwest... Some people are dumb as a post. ugh !
