Reimbursement of first car payment-- $500
Front fender resprayed and four rims refinished--??
Haven't reached out to GM at Carmax since trans decison but will go for extended warranty credited..$1200...
They are horrible and they are paying for it dearly......

Carmax royally screwed up when they processed your car. They know it. Some Carmax Manager got into deep doodoo on this sale. They are taking care of everything to your satisfaction and you think they are horrible? You've got a lot to learn about what COULD have been their response.

Just want to say at this point it was a hard decision trading in my 2015 Ultimate. I really liked that car and my wife loved it. All things considered it was the best pure luxury car I’ve had so far. Hope yours gets sorted out and you can enjoy it.

Thanks much! Yesterday Carmax Maple Shade NJ agreed to credit me the extended warranty I bought, over $1500. Hyundai of South Brunswick NJ is putting together the necessary info for trans approval from Hyundai. Car will be right in the end. Pic in my driveway... No worries.

There might be confusion from some on this thread. When I say Carmax was horrible, I meant the pre-buying inspection and process. My car never should have been presented to me in the condition it was. That was horrible.
They have done a very nice AFTER the purchase.

My 2016 had the front suspension collapse down to the stops several times. They replaced the front struts first, but only after they came off backorder. Then they replaced the pump assembly. So far no more uncontrolled low rider events, but it doesn't get one a warm feeling all over that when this happens you can't drive the car without damaging something. Takes a special tow truck that can handle a Lambo or other sports car since the front is too low for the normal tilt beds. Also, hopefully you're someplace with cell service or you're up the river without a paddle....

Following up my similar issue, after they replaced the driveshaft/u-joints (which I told them was not the problem), they decided to replace the tranny. That fixed the shuddering. They still can't fix the outside mirrors; they still do not return to their setting after shifting from reverse to drive, even though they replaced one mirror and a control module. Very frustrating, and they had the car for 34 days. Fortunately, warranty provided a rental and no out of pocket costs for the $5000+ repairs.

sorry for the very late response......2009 A8L was an absolute joy to drive. acceleration, handling and smoothness were top class. Equus is very smooth but simply not on the same level when it comes to handling and acceleration. The sport drive mode is good but you don't drive in sport mode 24/7. I love the features in my Equus and I love the look of the car.

The new tranny fixed the shuddering. Car has been running great since.

very true....nothing to back that theory up but certainly possible in this day and age.
