  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Do you suppose the Genesis designers liked the Audi A7?

I think Hyundai actually has the better looker.

With regards to the front-end, I think they really like the HCD8 from 2004:

lol funny how I posted this a few months ago in another thread.

I agree, the looks are very similar.

isn't the main designer for hyundai/ Kia from VAG, why does this keep making news

I'm sure the designer of the titan XD is probably from gm or gm based on how it looks

Sorry - I just don't see it in these pictures- and, in person, they look even less a like. The side profiles and rear are quite different - A7 roofline is one curve.

We must not be looking at the same picture - I see it Genesis as a 'dead ringer' of the A7 design. :)

They both have a large front grill and long hood - other than that they're quite different. The side profile/roof line is very different - the A7 roof is just once continuous curve to the rear lip of the car - not even a hint of a trunk = hatch back. Because of this roof shape the car just looks lower. The Genny has a definite break and a short trunk making for a very different side profile look. The rear of the 2 cars looks nothing alike!

...my Genesis looks like a Fusion??? Oh no... I'm crushed...

The G! guys are back in force - I guess it's to be expected as life must be boring in the G1 forums since no one cares about that old model any more. Based on your continued assessment of the G2 looks, you might want try these:

I like the look of the new model Genesis.....and the A7....and even the Fusion.

Something wrong with that?

I wonder what the Lexus designers were watching when they came up with their front grill design??

Not really; the A7 has a fastback design whereas the Genesis has a swept, 4-door coupe design.

The greenhouse/roofline of the Genesis is more akin to the likes of the Impala, Fusion, Avalon, Sonata, 200, etc. with the 200 being the closest to the fastback look of the A7, but noticeably not a fastback.

The G! guys are back in force - I guess it's to be expected as life must be boring in the G1 forums since no one cares about that old model any more.

The following describes the G2 fans devotion to the supposedly improved looks, from a certain Hans Christian Andersen;

"A vain Emperor who cares about nothing except wearing and displaying clothes hires two weavers who promise him the finest, best suit of clothes from a fabric invisible to anyone who is unfit for his position or "hopelessly stupid". The Emperor's ministers cannot see the clothes themselves, but pretend that they can for fear of appearing unfit for their positions and the Emperor does the same. Finally the weavers report that the suit is finished, they mime dressing him and the Emperor marches in procession before his subjects. The townsfolk play along with the pretense, not wanting to appear unfit for their positions or stupid. Then a child in the crowd, too young to understand the desirability of keeping up the pretense, blurts out that the Emperor is wearing nothing at all and the cry is taken up by others. The Emperor suspects the assertion is true, but continues the procession."

:p

Hmmm... speaking of old - who's the one with the OLD car that can't seem to stay away from the threads on the new one...

Most cars today are designed with lots of wind tunnel time. Not surprising they all look similar.

By that logic, I guess I won't be seeing you comment on any of the new G80 or G90 cars, since you'll be driving an *OLD* one!! :p

Who said I won't be driving a G80? I likely will be as I think the G80 will address any shortcomings I have with my G2. However, if I don't go that route, I definitely won't be lurking those forums just to typically add negative comments about those cars, unlike some...
