  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Today, in Arizona Hyundai announced the pricing and MSRP of the new 2015 Genesis. It starts at 38K, but is that a good MSRP? Keith Griffin reports from TorqueNews Hyundai.

The 2015 Hyundai Genesis is priced at $38,000 for the 3.8-liter V6 and $51,500 for the 5.0-liter V8. That's a fairly substantive jump from the 2014 MSRP of $35,200 for the V6 and $47,400 for the V8 model. The all-wheel drive version of the V6 starts at $40,500. (AWD is not available on the V8 yet.) Freight and delivery is going to add another $950 so you're basically looking at $40,000 (including taxes) before you're out the door with the most basic Genesis.

That's not to say the new model isn't worth it but when announcing the price, Hyundai didn't offer any specifics on added value. That information might be available at the media introduction. Most companies, not just Hyundai, are quick to point out that a new model may cost more but it has an additional dollar amount of value to justify the price increase.

“The all-new Genesis rivals the best premium sedans in the world, at a price point many thousands of dollars less,” said Dave Zuchowski, president and CEO, Hyundai Motor America, when announcing the Genesis. “Our 2015 Genesis represents a bold step forward for Hyundai and reinforces the successful strategy of marketing our premium models under the Hyundai brand umbrella, rather than a costly separate luxury brand sales channel. As a result, we’re able to pass the benefits of this strategy directly to our valued customers.”

The 2015 Hyundai Genesis does seem to be a value with all of the goodies packed into it. We'll have more details on what's included in the coming days and we're going to ask the question about the timing of the Genesis coupe when we get to Arizona. In the meantime, ask yourself: is the 2015 Hyundai Genesis priced right?
